The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
I have been asking the same question since I started trading and got no answer. This is ridiculous that these numbers never and nowhere sum up. Also, what is the difference between the shares which was bought or sold. It has to be the same, the shares cannot just hold up in the air, i.e. being sold, but not bought...
I do not think that is the end for HUR, but
"The field may then be decommissioned, with potentially limited or no value returned to shareholders. Notwithstanding these risks, the Company will endeavour to secure the best possible outcome for all stakeholders."
Why would a healthy company ever state this in their announcement? Moreover, another discouraging fact is that the shorters are keeping their positions. Although, I think their positions are more (very) long term associated with electric/hybrid cars.
With the following paragraph in their recent RNS announcement, it is hard to believe in the future of HUR:
"It should be noted that there is a risk of dilution to existing shareholders from a possible restructuring and/or partial equitisation of the convertible bonds. Furthermore, if no agreement can be reached with the Company's stakeholders on additional investment, further development activity at Lancaster might not be possible. In such a scenario, Lancaster could continue to produce from existing wells before reaching the economic limit, the timing of which would depend on oil prices, actual production levels delivered and the level of cost savings achievable. The field may then be decommissioned, with potentially limited or no value returned to shareholders. Notwithstanding these risks, the Company will endeavour to secure the best possible outcome for all stakeholders."
I assume this is exactly what keeps shorters in HUR. I was a shareholder of INTU and did not believe in such statements... we know what happened in the spring of 2020.
I think MTRO share price dynamics correlates well with AML. You can definitely earn on both shares with enough courage and patience. Just the MTRO share price wave has a greater amplitude and period. Well, lets see where this share price goes. My gut feeling says that there will be another chance to get in @60-70p.
What happens? The shorters sell even more shares at higher price and increase their positions... before another price drop. The last time in June it was the same. No news, nothing, but the price raised. Got my 95% profit. This time ended up with 30% only :(
Migsmcl86,
So why do you think the share prices dropped? Did people who bought 180p just sold their shares for 100-120p after the vaccine news? Obviously not. So, how did the price dropped? What is the mechanism?
I am a foreigner and I also invest in my home market, which has a daily turnover of around 1 million GBP. Funny, right? But there are no MMs in that market and the prices do not go up and down in such great differences like here. You can see that some share prices, even of big corporates, do not change for months there.
Hence, what would be an explanation of sudden ups and downs here, if not MMs. Ordinary people would not buy/sell at such rapid pace. These traders have to be professionals. And probably these professionals are market makers.
I managed to get 1700@85p. However, did not sell anything, which in overall is still a loss. I am wondering about the future.
My understanding of today is that MMs played a game everywhere, i.e. they had a predescribed scenario of how to behave once the news from pfizer come (that was anticipated for a long time). What does that mean? I think we will see tomorrow that shorts increased their positions in airlines, rolls-royce and others.
What will happen with these dropped prices, e.g. synairgen? They will return to the price where it was this morning within a week. Why? Because vaccine news are good, but these are just the news. And when you read carefully, as someone mentioned above, it is clear that the vaccine itself is still far away.
It is interesting here today. Usually, when MMs play, amounts of buys and sells are similar. Today, the amount of buys is significantly bigger than sells. Why? Is someone actually buying Hurricane?
