The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
If you have more than 10000 shares you can get two children's tickets for free too! However the kids meal deal of a hot dog and small soft drink is extra
Just my personal observation ofc.
Na I agree. This share is v sentimental, and kinda predictable. Post good news it always seems to be over brought, and the consolidation to bring the SP down has happened like clockwork over the last year of covid.
Vanadium.
@crumpets - thankyou! This has been bugging me for ages now, people banging on about UK lockdown which only affects around 10-15% of the EBITDA. (12% 2019).
Oh this website is cool! Thanks for the link. Interesting that numbers dwindled in the 80s, ( initial thoughts as this is during the birth of the arcades, and home console system.) Then resurgence in the 90s-00s, ( as arcades dies maybe)
Again to make the point that the UK EBITDA for CINE is only ~12%
Even if the UK goes down again - 'Murica is OPEN (and the row, which also shares the same sort of pc.
Besides (now talking subjectively) Bojo wont want another national lock down, it would be unpopular - and he loves his popularity
Anddd labour day is today....soooo....I mean....at least give the yanks a chance.
That's just Box office though. Per customer the avg. spend on food etc from 2019 was $4.50. The avg ticket price was around $9. [2019 Annual Report]
So that $20m, from box office can assume around $9-10m on food etc. Super rough estimates.
Taking 63% Warner cut still means roughly $16m-18m for cine all in all, ball park figure, just my speculation.
Rode it down from 100 (only because I tanked on buying at 55) avg down To 63. -33% during 30s, also holding my big cahoonas on this one - but as always fundamentals.
More importantly teletext was the bomb. I think 815 had a load of teletext based games you could play.
Off topic (sort of)
Hold onto your seats, just out of the showing at my local, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. A bit of a mind fk - as with any Nolan film. But it has some truly awesome cinematic moments that only he can deliver - thankfully not a wet flannel (although hopefully Mark Kermode agrees)
Cont.
In a streaming era, the traditional theatre is still a bedrock.
In all fairness, went to see Jurassic Park last night, only person in the cinema (local cinema, not cine) was epic. Made dino noises, and cheered on Rex at the end n everything.
Had epic nostalgia going on, and watching that film really brought back some incredible emotions - turned to my mate who was on the same 'awe' cloud.
"This is why cinema will never die." I told him
Nice soppy story for the morning. But also reminded me why in a streaming era,
Thanks for story share, always good to learn from your own mistakes (or even better, others)
I agree with Moola, stick to your plan, have outs, Dyor.
If it helps anyone at all, I've always looked at anything financials (stocks, risk management, pkr, even in game currencies back in the day) without the big £/€/¥/$ before hand. Or think of it as keeping score. Your score will rise, and fall, but you've factored that into your plan. I've always been content to be 2000 or more points down if I've already accepted that it may happen. As with cine, I brought on the way down, knowing that all I was trying to achieve was to push my average buy in value as low as possible before the turn.
It's a small thing, but for me to look at the number, as a number, and not as £'s, really helps the mindset to stick to my plan. Hope this was useful for someone.
I dunnnnno, I would happily miss out on a grand to not have a **** UK autumn/winter.
You lost me at 'after making research'.
Tell your 'de-ramp' overlords to either sponsor you through, at the very least, GCSE English, or to fire you and hire someone slightly more competent.
Except that 100p is the resistance that was set from the last bull run. So it's not an insignificant number
I think there will be a sell at 100 regardless of where it goes from there. I imagine a lot of limits are set there. I guess the trick will be to determine whether you hold through 100, or to sell at 100 with everyone else and gauge where you want to re-enter for the long term regain and future div.
Personally I'm stil weighing up the pro and cons for each
Pretty much my thoughts here. With the revelation from @putmeonthelist about Mooky + co buying in July and POTUS' somewhat 'positive' announcement last night I expect this week at the very least to be a shallow positive trend.
LET THE CIN, BEGIN!
Gentlemen...Start your engines please!
