Very high efficiency. The big driver in sales is the balance between capital costs and efficiency Capital cost is the most important of the two factors. Corac can produce at very low cost as so many of the peripherals have been removed. It’s potentially a massive market if you can get the cost right. “If you get the capital costs right it’s a huge market.” Coracs technology already designed with cost in mind for low cost air compression market. MANUFACTURING Never say never but CRA likely to sub-contract / license out aside from say 30 /40 per annum. All projects are designed with manufacturing in mind. CET’s capability is design.

Corac’s existing compressors in the industrial field have already demonstrated no maintenance , no intervention over a very prolonged period. Deployment on-shore can be relatively cheap and there is a focus to reduce costs even further. Off-shore relatively expensive. Regarding the 3 years DGC deployment expectation – this is also influenced by the fact that predictions are showing that the conditions of the well would require “re-wheeling” or a slightly different version after three years. The DGC more than pays for itself over this 3 year period and the economic case for adjusting /replacing is therefore sound. Stability - tested machines with full cable length to base of well and achieved very good stability with DC link. The way Corac operate compressors is designed to maintain stability. It works as expected in tests. DGC placed as close to the base of the well as temperature will allow. Silicon Carbide - not sure if this is currently being used or being developed for future use but it will enable DGC use in hotter, deeper wells. This will mean that the power electronics and control systems won’t be the most difficult part and CET are making strides with compressors to keep pace with this approach that will extend the market. DGC isn’t suitable for all wells. It can deal with annular gas liquid flow very efficiently but not slugs. Importantly, the IGC can deal with slugs and Corac have a couple of patents in for a compact method of dealing with slugs in relation to the IGC. Compressor blades use titanium alloy – very tough but also relatively elastic and it’s this that gives them the edge over stainless steel in terms of being resistant to erosion. Low blade speeds is example of over-engineering and deals with corrosion issue. REGULATORY ISSUES Each of CRA’s products focuses on one customer but the product is designed as being capable of mass production for multiple customers – a single machine that complies with multiple sets of regulations is the path CRA follow. Where there is a ground breaking new project the regulators or the regulatory department in a O&G department don’t have feet of clay – some dispensation and CRA work with the department to adapt if necessary.

Excellent feedback, courtesy of Nick763... Okay here's a few of my notes (mainly from the Q&A0 from the Society of Mechanical Engineers meeting. Please be aware that I'm a self-confessed non-techie. In case my scribbled notes have suffered from translation, indecipherable scribble or lack of engineering knowledge don't take anything here as gospel without checking! DGC 3 units produced : 250kw demo unit, 90 kw and 75kw (I’m not sure which one relates to which trial). Both tested at full downhole conditions – 3,000m below ground full temperature / full pressure. Updated electronics “that’s the reason for the delay” 2nd generation electronics has passed accelerated extreme temperature testing - 500 hours equates to 16,000 in the field at full deployment length. 2nd generation has a modular design, no soldered joints. Soldered joints created problems in the first generation. Second generation applied to both partners DGC. Could not show an example of 2nd generation electronics – “there's too much IP involved.” Displayed 1st generation model. Due to put one DGC down hole “imminently”. Both DGC’s entirely sealless Gas bearings : low cost, sealless and no potential for leakage / explosions. DGC ADVANTAGES Accelerate production which has been “shut in” Addressing a market that hasn’t been able to be addressed before. No competition. Where other technology has failed to deliver Corac say ‘we can enhance production from your well or rejuvenate your field /well.’ Other alternatives face liquid loading problem – got to lift the liquid by friction. If you can’t lift the liquid then this potentially stops production by falling to the base of the well. DGC addresses this. Other methods reduce gas production. Permanent magnet motors allow very high speeds / very high power density and gas bearing enabling technology allows this sort of power to go 3k down hole. DGC allows a lower abandonment and therefore greater amount of gas recovery. Allows recovery of condensates – very valuable, a little more valuable than crude oil and weight for weight much more valuable than gas. DGC - DURABILITY / ENDURANCE DGC designed for 3 years deployment. Engineered for longer design life than this. Very compact but Corac are attempting to over-engineer. “Confident in our ability to achieve this” (3 year deployment period) Possibly / probably they may have to pull the DGC out during this period. Posted over on ADVFN..................... In my previous work I had a colleague who knows a few people with ENI. Last week I contacted him and badgered him to see if he could get anything useful concerning the ENI DGC trial project. I'm now in a position to reveal the following information about the ENI trial: 1. ENI are very committed to doing this trial 2. ENI are generally positive about the progress that has been made 3. ENI are NOT currently in possession of the DGC unit 4. They believe it will be in their possession within this quarter. 5. There is a date that has been agreed for the trial - known to CRA BOD. 6. It may be known by some institutions but I cannot confirm that. 7. This is the first of its kind going downhole anywhere in the world 8. It is a prototype and while there is high degree of confidence of a successful trial outcome it is always possible for some unforseen circumstance to arise. 9. Bear in mind that ENI are not a single organisation and that there is not always a common alignment between the groups, such as the operators at the field, the R&D engineering, and completions team. 10. Arranging the trial date had to take into account of the availability of a suitable rig to carry out the installation. I have no clue as to when this trial date is - only that there is one known to the BOD, and you may wish to ask the BOD why the hell they have not yet released it. The only thing I can be certain of is that the ENI trial is definitely going ahead and likely to happen very soon. I am also now certain that Corac being on track to deliver means that Corac are on track to ship the DGC to ENI during this quarter. Regards, PG.
