That Mail article loks timed to me to keep JB out of Amigo ! I wonder who has put that story in their heads ? What i will say is, when i started out in business on my own as young man, my Father guarantored a loan for me with the Nat West bank, so don't think this is soley an Amigo idea and that was nearly 40 years ago !!!!!!!!!!!!!! However, if someone is kind enough to help you out by doing so ( acting as guarantor ), you would think the loanee would not borrow beyond their means. Yes, Amigo made mistakes but a lot of their mistakes were lending to fraudulent claims. Because, however you put it, if you are trying to borrow more than you can afford, that is fraud !!!!!!!!! It is in my eyes anyway !!!!!!

Bryn81 - If i had to hazard a guess, i would say poorly written on purpose to give that effect ! That is not written by an idiot, it is written by someone trying to look like an idiot ! Just my opinion but i bet i am not far wrong !

Coiled, they will get a better redress if they don't have to pay the fraudulent claims ! It all comes out of the same pot !

Not sure i would have worded it as Franky has but, i think there have been loads and loads of unjustified claims ( Gary mentioned it - can't find where ). I am hoping the FCA not fining Amigo will go hand in hand with them looking very closely at the CMC's who actively encouraged people to put in claims against Amigo, even though they knew they were / possibly were or probably were fraudulant, in the knowledge that every claim would cost Amigo over £600 ! Maybe, just maybe, Amigo being let off is an acceptance of the FCA starting to realise this !

eotb - Sorry to hear you feel that way, hope you never lost too much when you sold up. Still, you join the list of another one not invested so does not need to comment on here anymore. Personally, I am staying, win or lose, that is the game now, only 4 and a bit months to go. I am backing win, but it might not be quick like was hoped.

BSB - A takeover would be preferential to winding down, i think we would all agree with that BUT, that could be as low as 7.?p in May if it drags on that long ( i will stand to be corrected if i am wrong on that ) ! Personally, i have not hung on this long for that scenario. Every day that passes, we are day nearer knowing the outcome. I have a feeling we will not know too much more now until next year. However, this is Amigo, so expect the unexpected !

Jimmy - So the statement you have made about Provident saying " I've never owned their shares ", do i presume means we have finally got to the bottom of what your problem is with Amigo? You have owned Amigo shares and you have lost money !!!
