Adeg1, selling shares to have more income doesn’t sold good to me a bit like a company selling assets to paid dividend. I would rather cut back on spending but everyone has different ideals
Redacted agree 100%, give the share holder thy money. If you think buy back is a good ideal then buy more share. I need the income to top up my pension. This is not the first time I have mention I’m not a fan of buy back and of all the companies doing buy back haven’t seen any difference in their share price.
Can any one please explain why this share is not showing on my Hargreaves account. Just log in after being away for a few days and my 4k plus share are not showing looked on the net to see if BmE have gone bust.
Could someone explain all the benefits of buyback against paying a higher dividend, with the extra 10 mil could of paid 15/20p dividend. Down 40+ % so a higher div would have been nice
Brought this morning 1556 share @ 627.7 = 8.7% yield. Hopefully final dividend will be a bit higher than the interim it has for the last 5 yrs. A good one for topping up my pension
Got £10000 worth of share on the dip (122p) can anyone explain the dip can’t be because of the failed merger. With a 8% dividend coming in June not to unhappy
Thanks Gerry557 for your answer, so you say 27p Div = 6.7% yield at 400p, I think I will put an order in @ 375p = 7.2% yield which would nice for my SIPP
Anyone got idea/clue what the next dividend is likely to be. Will the new shares dilute it ??. I sold my just before the qualifying date thinking the share price would take a very big hit then buy back in thinking of 350p, with a dividend of 20p 6%ish yield.
But how many that are happy with the car salesman and with the contact that they got but are now going for comp because it is easy money ( i am down over 40%)
Hi Thriller The share that I sold closed 62.8 (the day before) then open at 62.6 (on ex div day) The dividend was 1.6p
I agree with you that shares usually go down by the dividend + ,but saw the price so I sold just to see if you got the dividend. you can get a lot of misinformation and they say DYOR
