MO I am sorry to read that you are disheartened with the posts on this platform. Some can be very dispiriting, and intentionally so.

Moving on, I heard an interesting figure recently at the CL AGM Zoom. The directors are estimating their production cost for Lithium carbonate will be around $11k per tonne for both the hard rock source and the brine source. Clearly that gives them a significant margin and makes CL a very interesting prospect. They also mentioned they are targeting 10k tonnes from HR and 500-1000 tonnes from each brine unit. And they have a large number of potential sites in mind for the latter.

Clearly CL have potential to provide a significant proportion of the UK's expected future requirement.

On 1/6/23 (opening price 34p) a VSA note was published - Buy -price target £1.45 per share

The Imerys/BL venture still leaves plenty of potential for other suppliers for EV batteries in the UK. ( BV is targeting battery storage rather than the EV market. )

The UK critical mineral strategy, is no more than wish list. Without big funding or incentives as seen in the US IRA, it is a list of "hopes" that the market will do the Government's work. Unfortunately, another arm of governance i.e. the BoE is putting up interest rates every month, causing market investment in many fledgling companies to dry up.

If HMG wants the UK to be resilient to Russian /Chinese aggression or economic pressure, it will have to do a lot more than publish pages of wish lists. Putting policy into practice requires payment.

Thanks for posting. I had seen the majority of that before. The sceptic in me is wary of "President Biden plans to ask the US Congress to designate the UK " . Will he remember to do it, if so when will he do it? And will Congress agree to the request, and if so when? Biden is not known for pro-UK views. If this gets tied up, I will be pleased, but I am not going to rely on it. Having said that, the US appears to be banning the use of chinese supplied metals/materials from within Defense department contracts, and that can only be positive for miners in the SW of England.

that the US is about to classify the UK as a domestic source and, hence, eligible for government

grants to develop critical minerals such as Tungsten and Tin.

I am sure the point you make has not gone un-noticed. The SC team are highly professional in my opinion. There is a question over adaptability of the machines. " Up the road" grades are a fraction of that at SC, and the tonnage throughput was expected to be massively more than at SC. So the need for Tomra is a lot lot less at SC. Not saying it may not help, however.
