I think you must be mistaken cw1966. ARSENAL17 does not make assumptions in relation to Rolls Royce. In his own words he has "over 25 years past experience in RR as an engineer and [his] wife has more who is company senior staff".

There must be some good news in that Trading Update somewhere that the market has overlooked, perhaps? He did suggest we "wait and see" so I'm going to hold tight for the turnaround towards the end of the day.

Even if there is some good news in the RNS tomorrow, the SP will need to go up 5% (as at right now) just to get back to where we closed yesterday! Dred to think what will happen if it's bad news.

Gutted considering we were in the mid to high 140's only a month ago.

JG68 - Sturgeon is the leader of Scotland and Scotland is a recognised country within the World. She is, by definition, a World leader. That's all I meant.

The latest covid variant has actually done us a favour here IMHO. The BOE will now have to think twice next week about raising interest rates.

I'm guessing that Lombard speculated that rates would increase this month making the CARD debt more expensive to service. Now that a rise less likely, they have cut back.

Next week should be interesting depending on what the BOA decide to do.

Is ARSENAL17 qualified to comment on equities or market volitility? He's worked as an engineer for 25 years and is married to someone senior who discuses strategy, so no he is not.

It's like a cashier in Tesco's telling us she's married to a regional manager so she's got some real insight as to how the SP will perform. Long term SP only, of course, like that's a difficult one to have a shot at.

I'm sure more news will filter out over the weekend causing yet more falls on Monday. My guess is that it will start with the headline "First case of new variant detected in the UK".

The bloody tabloids will run with that until the SP is knocking around sub-110p again.
