Excellent article. Somewhat reminiscent of the EU - the UK enforces the regulations/sanctions with great rigour, while others, especially Germany, just disregard anything that is inconvenient. Net result - we suffer, not the intended targets.
That would be the time to buy, not sell, PintOfHSB, unless you believe the company is going bust. In which case you should sell immediately. A third of the market cap wiped off because of a disappointing, but not catastrophic, trading update. Like chique I bought back in too early, but I'll buy more if it falls below 60.
All the changes to the law in the rental sector is smashing small private landlords with older houses. In a few years, all renters are going to be herded into the sort of accommodation WJG is building. Unless you think an incoming Labour government is going to reverse the crackdown on hated small landlords.
THG were 52.4 on 1 Sept when we got suspended. 83.84 now. Boo, 40.61 on 1 Sept, 50.7 now. We should be due a decent bounce on relisting just because the market has recovered a bit. Add in historic problems faced up to and addressed, new Board, and hopefully some really encouraging sales figures and forward look, and 50p looks easy.
I did think pancake day would be most appropriate to release the accounts, fully signed off, and lift the suspension. Alas, not to be, but at least we did get an RNS. And it is as flat as a pancake.
See you all in 5 weeks.
The price will be determined by the bookbuilding process Mr Beaky, so dependent on demand. At first glance it looks like the retail offer is open now and shuts at 8am tomorrow. As my DEC shares are in an investment isa, I can't put cash in (fully funded this year) or sell anything else to participate. Bit gutted if that's right. Must dash now.
Wolster is right. They should inform the company within 2 days, so it could be reported up to 3 days after by RNS. But this is widely flouted and I've never ever heard of anyone being sanctioned for it. The company don't know exactly who owns the shares - and I have heard of unscrupulous operators declaring fake holdings to manipulate the SP. Not that I'd ever suggest LO of stooping so low. They are selling down other holdings though - so they need cash or are anticipating a crash. Probably the former, I think we're in green shoots phase of recovery now.
