Mologic are already developing an antigen test which will be poc, lateral flow and we need to see how accurate this is. It needs to be good, it needs to be very good to take over from others, it is also going to be a saliva test which has already been highlighted as very similar to how HIV are currently done.

Decentralisation is key, this is being pumped today and obviously the same as what we are looking at. They have had sir john bell live on channel 4 now and let's be honest he's not over optimistic of what has been announced today, actively being proactive but certainly isn't pushing it.

What you must take as the positive is the generation move on of tests and the fact government won't stick to the first one they used. Must put your money where you think the best test at the time will come from for the longest period to go

If the tests we develop can work in developing nations and have the correct level of accuracy and sensitivity then in the uk they will work very well.

Poc test very easy to order, easy to distribute, easy instructions, cost less, no instrument, can be used multiple times. Etc etc. It's all about sensitivity and accuracy which can compete with the instrument tests.

Antigen update from mologic anytime, Elisa first followed by saliva POC test, ready and being supplied by November for flu season.

This is my step change, a lateral flow, poc test that is easy to use, £3 and no instrumentation needed. If mologic drop an update showing great accuracy and sensitivity after knowledge around the current tests show how poor they are then it's a step change nationally.

A point of care, no instrumentaional need which is the same request for cd4 would step change, mologic have been working on it for weeks if not months, everyone is behind our curve and it will replace a huge amount of the current method. It also talks of the Abbott test being used and accuracy is this being far less which is exactly now what everyone knows and is simply confirming what we already are aware of.

Seems on the board and in these articles the focus is upon what's not good and with poor tests I can understand why this is the case. However reading a paper there is probably 99.9% of articles writing about how destructive covid is and how we are going to overcome this problem both economically and socially.

In Liverpool they have seen spikes, creates local lockdowns, data, data, data, tests, tests, tests. It's the only way to manage and deal with this. Accurate, quick, low cost tests is the future and we are well and truly part of this. Decentralised Elisa test, poc test tests, completed by local surgeries, local councils, local people who then put data onto a system, keep the area and authorises up to date so that changes can be made.

I don’t think Abington and Odx would merge. They are too similar and make similar things. If Covid stays and diagnostic tests grow then it may be a bigger firm that is interested? The tie up with mologic gives extra research and extra options in test types going forward. Alongside also the tests they are already interested in.

Remember Elisa, POC tests, ability to meet a demand that the likes of Roche won’t, smaller, more far out destinations and ways of testing.

It’s the trade mark and the product owned by? Certainly not Abington nor Odx. Not sure what the deal was for the actual test but In regards the companies themselves that deal is the original rns when the group got established.

Abington aren’t a big company, they are making POC manually with some automated machines and will not achieve the same volumes until after Odx do. Odx are more capable in other areas to start than Abington so just because there buying other businesses doesn’t mean their better it might mean there trying to get bigger. They haven’t bought a huge business, these are small privately owned businesses coming together now there is a chance to leverage and focus against an aim.

Colin knows what he is doing, he might ignore USA for India? They have an extensive distribution and sales network far better than the other RTC members

Daily mail slating the current antigen tests, not accurate enough, way it works. There’s not enough good example of finger prick to get people excited until now.

Also note on look north how Abington are making them literally by hand, bottle necked hugely, very slow. So all the pr we want, all the orders, they’ll be lucky to supply one council at the moment let alone countries

I don’t think it’s a theory or Covid isn’t real. I think it affects vulnerable people of which we aren’t clear as yet as to who they exactly are. If you are vulnerable it’s terrible and can kill very easily and quickly and therefore through testing we have to manage the non vulnerable well so they don’t pass it on and whether we can achieve herd immunity depends on how long antibodies stay in the body or/and the body remembers the virus.

Some countries have huge numbers of vulnerable people which means nhs overwhelmed for all

So managing that isn’t easy, interesting on the board everyone has an opinion, when we become vulnerable ourselves No doubt it may change, grow older, put on weight.

It’s real, it’s terrible.

However the government is in capable of being agile, flexible, different and bringing the U.K. together. Very traditional approaches with councils, social services, prisons, police etc. Very little integrated, very little capable of working together so what you get it slow, expensive, big pharma taking over as without government has little to say or show. They throw billions at inefficiency which had been there years.
