Seems the Guyana government were a little hasty issuing the first licenses with poor terms.

Since then of course there have been numerous discoveries in their waters and understandably they want to maximise the benefits.

Still plenty of scope for us to do a good deal.

Rumblefish, I don't want to throw a spanner in the works but I'm long here as I am in ECO where a similar scenario is unfolding.

Their licence for the Orinduick block in Guyana is due to expire.

According to recent posts on that board if the license is extended it will be with the surrender of a percentage of the acreage, if the licence expires or the extension is not granted then the intellectual rights/data are then owned by whoever issued the licence.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed in both cases but the clock is ticking ever louder.

I know we are listed on AIM and therefor exempt from stamp duty when purchasing ECO shares but are there any tax implications by now trading on the SETS order book.

Can't find a definitive answer even on the London Stock Exchange web site.

According to the company web site 35% of shares are not in public hands. so not many in circulation once the feeding frenzy begins.

There will be scare mongers planting seeds of doubt who want your shares cheap so hold onto them and rely on the facts.

As a long term holder of both ECO & Tullow oil I have more reason than most to be frustrated with TLW's incompetence and the glacial progress.

The way I see it now though is where we were unhappy campers sat round the camp fire trying to keep warm, we now have multiple irons in the fire warming up nicely.

Without TLW's inactivity would Navitas now be on board, definitely not.

I'm thankful I had the foresight (or was it out of desperation) to flog most of my TLW shares and replace them with ECO in a cash and share ISA.

Expecting the license extension RNS this week, I think it will happen because we have the discoveries, the data and along with Navitas backing we have clearly stated our intensions and desire to finally progress.

We're in this position because Tullow as operator had no funds to move forward.

As a footnote, should we be kicked out of the playground, would we take our ball, i.e. not share our data with the next operator or would we pass it on at a price ?

If the license expires on Tuesday I would expect a RNS as the relinquishment of an asset is price sensitive and could be detrimental to the share price.

So no RNS could point to a done deal.

Not many shares in issue compared to our peers, lots of people accumulating/joining the party and not many selling as lots are long term holders with a higher average.

These shares are going to get harder to acquire as word spreads and news flow intensifies.

Surely following the fid decision and contracts being awarded it is now a matter of quantifying both the volume of oil on our acreage which I suppose isn't an exact science and agreeing the method of compensation.

This could be either incremental payments or a pay off with or without retaining an interest.

I can't help thinking with our current small market cap and a basket full of desirable assets at what point would it make economical sense to pursue a take over.

Still no noises from ECO house which is strange given the share price as drifted so low.

Bought 2 x 100.000 yesterday and 1 x 100.000 earlier, two went through as sells and one as unknown.

Firstly our CEO Rahul D'OH! who laid out a five year road map for us, who was instrumental in the disastrous Capricorn merger, the relinquishment of assets, who is supposedly pivotal in ongoing Kenya discussions while overseeing a crucial Ghana tax dispute informs us he is leaving the company.

TLW and KOS then release RNS's acknowledging non existent takeover rumours and inform us preliminary discussions have indeed taken place regarding a possible takeover.

Since then the flood of regulatory news has begun which suggests a certain degree of preparation.

All the while for no apparent reason the share price has been eroded over a prolonged period

of time.

I think our large holders who must hold some sway need to ask some serious questions.

The level of transparency as been far from adequate.

Curiously a takeover/merger is usually beneficial to both or at least one of the two parties.

It seems like we are both getting dragged down the aisle and the stock market does not approve of the union.

Ultimately the problem with this and the previous government is the total lack of urgency and awareness of the benefits of SMR's.

They seem intent on frustrating the progress of this innovation in the name of fair competition.

Competition is all good but not when your handing your competition the upper hand.

Jacqui Smith (cabinet minister) said when pressed by Nigel Farage who was urging the development of SMR's that she believed the government would commit to Smr's.

Don't know about that, but what I do know is RR have taken on up to date 200 plus apprentices to work on SMR and poached additional staff from elsewhere.

Surely a positive sign of being awarded a large proportion of the contracts.

Going through the motions of due process at present, not long to wait.

Post brexit the government have been quick to acknowledge any endorsement of british industry, i.e the recent announcement of the electric car battery plant in Somerset and creation of 9000 jobs.

Why wouldn't they practice what they preace.

Their £210 million funding of smr development was a statement of intent.

Unfortunately this is business with politics thrown in the mix and they now have to be seen to be going through the motions of impartiallity by putting the project out to tender.

Furthermore if RR didn't get awarded the contract surely questions would be raised regarding the misuse of government funds and lack of commitment.

Finally when all the tenders are submitted, British based or otherwise will they benefit from similar financial goverment assistance, I suspect not.

Seems like Tullow have been left holding the baby and our bed partners have buggered off on the best possible terms i.e leaving all their s**t behind to avoid paying maintenance.
