On Wednesday 13 October 1400-1600 BST the Observatory for Monitoring Data-Driven Approaches to Covid-19 (OMDDAC) is hosting a symposium on its research into data-driven approaches to the pandemic, featuring guest speakers and panel discussion on the legal, ethical, policy and operational challenges, as well as the impact of data-driven approaches on civil society, children and young people, and public perceptions of data use.

Since November 2020, OMDDAC has been analysing key data-driven responses to the pandemic and collating lessons learned through stakeholder interviews, in-depth case study analysis, and a public perceptions survey.

OMDDAC will present lessons learned from its research, practitioner guidelines for data-driven approaches, the results of its public perception survey, and additional research focused on children and youth.

Professor Helen Kennedy, Professor of Digital Society at the University of Sheffield will deliver the keynote address.
