Erm ? Perhaps manipulation ,like today open it at 390 to knock out any stop losses . A thinly traded share on low volume so the MMs can play this .
But surely not in this "great british " free and fair market ,I must be mistaken . More than happy to hold and collect another div I see no reason to sell

growth here , deserves a far stronger rating. In the USA companies nowhere near paying a div or making a strong profit are rated on a pe of + 40 . Seems that investors elsewhere have lost sight of the key a investment metric , namely future growth potential .

As in any share we should only be looking for a sustainable increase in EPS , this company is an outstanding candidate .

Looks like a very well run company trading at a large discount to true value . Should have a lot further to go.

All investors in JLP owe President Kaunda a debt of gratitude for the stability he instilled in Zambia. Without his wisdom I doubt very much that Zambia would be the beacon of investment potential it represents today in an otherwise unstable area of Central Africa .
He presided over a country with arbitrarily imposed colonial borders and + 70 different tribes and languages some of which historically were engaged in hostilities with each other .
The contrast with the present crop of worldwide disingenuous self serving politicians is something to behold .

this morning a metals analyst called Francesko Blanch of Bofa Securities stated that copper on the LME this year can trade up to 20000 - 30000 $ / tonne . He did not have a smirk on his face as he said it and the interviewer asked him to repeat it .
He reckons there is not enough cu ore in the ground to keep up with electrification demand and unless plenty of cu scrap becomes available for recycling there will be a significant shortage of the metal .
Pretty obvious what this would mean for JLP even if they have only partial success with the roll out of their plans .

Yes good update . Strange the way that yesterday this was managed down by 8% , no doubt to try and trigger some stop losses.
Some manipulation going on ? Surely not , not complaining I managed to pick some up @ 387 & 377 just before the strong div.

Dibs you are correct the hypocrisy spouted in the western world about how wonderful democracy and capitalism are never ceases to amaze me. Take a look at the state of democracy in the US at the end of the trump tyranny, and we are not in a true capitalist system, all the bail outs and money printing as a result of corrupt banking practices before the financial crisis have put pay to that. Abuse abounds and it is becoming the norm.

Looks like the market was expecting a lousy production report

A lot of the ups / downs are a result of the large spread which is a product of the small volumes traded . This share is tightly held for good reasons.

Hi Auson you could well be correct , you describe a perfect example of manipulation.
A very useful trading strategy would be to take note of such manipulation to build up a useful position before the forthcoming juicy div LDR on the 6th

Been to US just the once ,stayed in a new build very attractive 4 bed detached house in Las vagus . Not a brick to be seen ,the house seemed to be constructed out of wood and plasterboard ,not built to last imo. Cannot remember what the roof was like but I would not be surprised if it had boards for a roof . Seems to me that they could use semi skilled labour in the construction process and the skystrip machine would be very useful.
The lack of a large fall today probably reflects the value to be had here and the fact that the shares are tightly held and traded in low volumes.

The directors are already very positive about the outlook , things may yet get a whole lot better .

Still at a daft rating . I simply cannot understand why anyone would choose to sell this ,probably selling at a good profit but missing out on further growth and a healthy div

This has fallen 22 points to 514 . Must be wishful thinking on the part of the MMs because it has not actually traded at 514.
The most significant trade was for 5000 at 529 for 26.7 k the average is probably around 524

Yep should be a fair rise in portfolio valuation in near future, gone from approx 3% of portfolio to 12% at a stroke must be positive . Wont show in the year end results but if they are fair - good this should test the years high .
The beauty of companies such as this is that they are not proxies for the main market so the market swings will not be reflected here.

stimulus about to signed into law in the US could have a significant positive impact for a wealth management company such as Karpus .
Funds under management could shortly be taking a large leg up.

Nice time to buy. The share is tightly traded and difficult to buy / sell so grab it near a low and hold I have also topped up .
