I am up a similar amount but I will not be selling In my town the CARD and CLINTONS stores are adjacent to each other . On numerous occasions I have checked them out , without exception Clint staff have been engaging in idle chatter with nowt to do while Card staff have been busy taking cash , re- stacking shelves and helping customers . If this is replicated across the country Clintons market share is being absolutely plundered . The � / $ is also strong easing margin pressure . This business should be very sustainable in the long term.

This business is all about sustainability and market share in a very niche market. The card market will remain very resilient whatever headwinds the consumer the faces . They will not stop sending cards , and even in a retail upturn they will still be seeking out value. CARD must be taking market share from the competition so the business revenue, and price / profit should improve into the future and eps growth will eventually return. A yield of 12% is crazy when you are lucky to get 1% from the bank , this business simply has to be a buy.

on26th. Plenty of time for the market to wake up and realize that this is on a priced to fail valuation and also pick up a very strong div. Brexit concerns are IMO having too much influence and the government are not in a position to raise rates significantly , despite the script from smarmy carney and his cohorts .

Don't get too excited . Dow well down , FTSE well down this is probably just following the rest of the market. Shorts have also slightly reduced so they are not full of confidence . ATB

Despite this governments disingenuous assertion that the economy is wonderful 75 % of the population are are on their uppers and the retail sector is suffering .But people need to get out and traditional shopping is not in terminal decline. My very unscientific comparison of CARD v CLINTONS in previous posts has shown that Card is light years ahead in terms of footfall and revenue so the punters are seeking out value. The results out shortly are likely to be flat as a result of margin pressures , but if the div can be maintained along with a reduced special div there is no reason for the lowly sp. In reality the pressures on retail is of assistance to value retailers like Card and their pricing could safely be increased by + 15 % because they would still be way cheaper than the competition. Have taken a punt here ahead of the results @ 207

The reporting standards in british markets are lax to put it mildly, even in the main FTSE sectors companies and auditors seem to come up with fictional numbers to suit their requirements . The two most successful economies in the world are the USA and China if the cons inflicted on the british " markets" where attempted in the USA the perpetrators would be banged up for 30 years , in China they would be shot. In britain after a suitable pause they are booted up to the House of Lords. Still even with the large spread here we appear to be undergoing a rise into the results so fingers crossed. ATB

Hi Guzbod Yes I am invested here bought in twice once just before the Brexit vote for a div and again off the charts the day of the great Brexit sell off so I am comfortably up. I consider this a solid long term hold ,obviously it will move with the market tantrums but the recent company update was very positive and the strong div will provide some stability. It is rather frustrating that automated trading slavishly following the US market provides excess volatility especially when our valuations are not so high. Higher rates will probably not impact Lgen too much they might even assist. Having said that if the downturn continues for a few months business investment sentiment could be impacted and global growth slowed down. So dangerous times ATB

has consistently claimed that the recent record highs in stock markets are the result of his genius , perhaps he would now apply that genius to the recent record falls or even better the Orange Buffoon could declare the falls as fake news on his favorite platform twitter , then we could all relax problem over. We are now nearing payback time for the mistakes made by central bankers when they bailed out corrupt bankers at the start of the ongoing 2008 financial crisis . One thing which is not fake is the fact that the latest $ bond issuance to service the ever ballooning 20 trillion debt load has not been well taken up . No problem those kindly and thoughtful central bankers will be available to take up the slack with some more fake funny money via the printer button.

I am not invested here but I am looking. Amazingly in my town their shop is bang next door to Clintons enableing instant comparison . Clints 2 customers none at till Card 9 customers 2 at till . Prices are crazy ,cards for 29 p so margins must be very thin and they certainly could raise them comfortably by at least15% because the opposition are nowhere near. The $ has weakened so they should be getting more bang for the � which will help . If they abandon the special div it might even boost the sp because the balance sheet will look more credible. ATB

Yes has potential but the lack of liquidity and large spread is a handicap . I honestly had no idea that such micro caps existed. I have a couple of AIM shares with similar low vols but I am prepared to hold them for many years. Interesting time now for recruitment with the global economy ticking up at a touted 4% growth. But are the economists correct ? If the infant trump has his way with America first and import tariffs things could very quickly go into reverse , that rare beast inflation will re- appear and the populace will not be buying at his fancy prices. How can that half wit government minister stand up in parliament and state that " great britain " has the strongest corporate governance regulations anywhere in the world , when it is patently obvious that the reverse is the case. They are now backtracking and saying that the liquidators will also investigate the actions of the directors. What will it say about " corporate governance " when the outcome of the investigation states that directors did nothing illegal ? I can guarantee that that will be the case . Very decent update from the company sp + 10% The not so esteemed deutsche got it bang wrong. How is it possible for a tin pot website like ADVFN to have so much manipulative control over the sp here without cooperation , whoops!! nearly said collusion from MM's . It is perfectly obvious that the ultimate reason for the "deutsche updates " is for the manipulation of the sp to make a sure fire quick buck. I also find it rather strange that ADVFN feel that it is perfectly OK to put their " updates " in the same format as statutory updates and within the same stream . Pretty obvious that this is done to give their " updates " the illusion of some authority. I feel that the FCA should look into this. If ADVFN are going to continue with this scam at the very least it should be confined to a specific part of their website and not within the regulatory stream. The situation at the moment is akin to the helpful guy that knocks on your door to tell you that your roof is in urgent need of attention and he can help you out. Or the nuisance phone caller that tries to scam your credit card number.
