St George Street has recruited its 40th patient into the Arcadia trial, which looks to treat people with #diabetes and #COVID19 in hospital. A new paper in Nature highlights the potential importance of blood glucose control in people with COVID19.

@SG, the trial is not the only investment, i am sure you know that! and we do not know when the news of next/other investment will land, could be tomorrow or next week

Good morning, i am sure most of that has been said already but trying to summarise as possible:
-The vaccine is prevention while our trial is for treatment of high risk category of patients
-The vaccine is in very early stage and needing 2 doses to offer immunity.
-It will take few months to to produce enough doses for the whole population.
-No body know how long the immunity lasts following the vaccine.
-Flue has not disappeared despite having a vaccine for long time, just an example (to simplify it), any diabetic patient with severe flue will still need treatment although the vaccine is there.
_AZ already have their vaccine trial but still trialling this treatment for DM patients/Covid so yes they have done their DD. It is just a different weapon in the fight against the virus. The same with UAE they are investing in the vaccine but also in the treatment trial (Arcadia).
-There are other similar trials testing anti inflammatories in diabetic/covid patients jus started/starting in other countries if you google it so it is a very important clinical issue.
-Many other points; but my conclusion is there is no contradiction between the two approaches and we are more likely to get an outcome before even a small percentage of the population get access to to the vaccine (assuming the FDA will approve it).

yeh, but the market is not falling for it again, the vaccine will not be widely available for months, probably not until spring. And Vela has nothing to do with the vaccine anyway, good opportunity to buy here.

Indeed, one of the most prestigious U.S. hospitals, the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, said it does not currently have that capability.

Spotify, the wording of the last rns ..” we have been invited to the participate..” , makes me think he was working on another investment (most likely disruptive tech.) when the covid trial came his way, so the next investment can not be far away imho.

Neilin, i have not suggested they change the target now, only saying they could have used the last 15 months to get something done, obviously there was an issue listing that on Aim and now the same issue on LSE
