The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Just bought another pair of these shoes for £79.99 which I think is about 1/2 the normal price. My seller can't supply them again in the future because, apparently, Doc Martens won't supply them anymore as they are being sold 'under the rrp'. I wonder why not? Is this the way to be going? Does it matter as lo,g as Doc Martens get their price?
Just who is making the most money when these are sold at the normal price; the seller, or Doc Martens?
- I am not as yet, a share holder.... I'm still waiting to get in. I am though a little worried that I might be gazumped by a predatory offer
... if I can just come in here, surely it must make a difference what happens to the bought back shares? Are they held in treasury, of cancelled.
20% cancelled shares wouldn't affect the value of the company at all, but certainly increase the value of the remaining (80%) shares.
Share buy backs to be held in treasury on the other hand just means that BP are a 20% larger shareholder in themselves & have basically swapped (and thereby reduced) cash for shares.
Or have I got that wrong too?
Is anybody holding their breath 'til Monday?
If there is an RNS in the morning I fully expect it to be another 'kicking the can further down the road' type. A relisting? I do hope so, but doubt it...
Have a great weekend all
... thanks notrac.
I'm now considering selling up the day before the next results are due if the price drops like it did yesterday, to then buy them back the following day. Might be able to squeeze about 10% after expenses out of that... instead of losing it. But, will I have the guts to actually do it?
... full speed ahead, and all looking good, and yet already down 10% this morning???. I just don't get it, I probably never will...
... which suggests to me that somebody else is quite happy to buy them.... (or could it mean that the market makers have them in reserve?). I have absolutely no idea but hope it's a good sign
