Well National Grid may well get a kicking on Monday behind the woodsheds regarding the SP. Delayed open 30p down might be the result. How does the company monitor its sub stations, how are they security monitored, how are critical systems on-site monitored such as coolant temperatures, are systems vulnerable to cyber manipulations and malfunctions. I suspect someone has failed to either anticipate a risk or they failed to monitor the risk with on-going systems to detect issues.

They have Sunday to produce an RNS and put the best defence they can on the situation.

The only good news is that NG can develop systems to prevent recurrence and the damage was limited to one day plus getting back to normal costs. I dare say NG have insurance as a private company. The next renewal is going to be expensive if that is so and they may have to take some of the costs as a hit.

I am holding 80% of my position as a long for what I think will unfold in the summer. Both gold and Endeavour higher value then currently with all the usual caveats that have to be considered with mining stocks. 20% I trade with and have now set it up as a short around the current price area in that I banked all the profits I had before and a little extra and have the option to buy back cheaper over 30 days or let the position close and only add if averages down the long position. Day trading is working for the government on stamp and share buying costs and on top of that and ask bid price difference. Additionally, Canada market can leave the London open a mess at times and we have the company buying lots of shares as Van Eck probably sells them. Trading them becomes buying low, waiting and then selling high where you can in a 2-3 month window. Tony

In a presentation to the media I heard him include securing rare earths from abroad.

The contractor took the shares for around 23.5p so 24p could be the bottom price on sell.

Not new but the RNS above confirms completion of conditions that is probably relevant to the funding condition. It says in the RNS that they see the conditions as being met to basically achieve release of funds to construct the first phase of the mine build although elements are still be finalised.

To suggest that the Angola local Government would impede the project is not a risk imop. All approvals are conditional on financing from banks. The company certainly had Asian buying off take interest. It can now be renewed as financing approval has delayed previous arrangements by a year and that hurdle has only know been overcome. The issue is Government support on backing the loans. A Government might insure in the event of manipulation on rare earth prices, but they can not guarantee that a mine is built on time and to cost. The banks need to take that responsibility and have reports from independent experts. However, all of this is conjecture on my part. It requires the Board to clarify all this as soon as possible. The RNS has not fully explained itself and investors have difficulty in evaluating the position. The company could rectify this in a 15 minute presentation. They should do this today.

How any outfit can still have a short on Endeavour mining at the current gold price with Powell looking so powerless to do anything is beyond me. Again Asia supports higher prices overnight.

1. For every seller there is a buyer and quite often say a PI buying can show up as a sell trade and vice versa depending if the action arose below or above the trade mid-point. Its not reliable in looking at gross buy and sell trades.

2. If a lot of A trades are going through and smallish volume it is often a large share holder working through a broker and their activity is broken down into a small trades. Company buy backs for example often appear that way.

3. We also have late trades that show up attributed to actions that happened several days before and often get labelled unknown.

4. If someone wants to accumulate stock they may do it through both O trades or A trades and again it can be a variety of mixed volumes. They may put in buy orders at lower prices and if the market maker has to much stock from a seller that would drive the price down.

Overall the stochastics are all over the place and a stock that has seen only a handful of trades a day suddenly getting hundreds has disrupted the technical indicators.

We need a briefing from the company explaining the conditional elements. For some it may be just building a mine competently on time and within the projected costs with limited overruns and contingency. I thought Angola would be the country providing a guarantee as politically they would be involved in making trade deals with other countries for some of their resources. However, we do not have the visibility on what the conditions are unless someone explains it all to us. Tony

No I did not predict anything SP, I made a general point about a chart someone else put up and what that weekly chart was implying. Of course you were telling me to sell Pensana at 24p as they were to do a raise. That was before it went to 40p. Another RNS regarding Pensana will be out in a few weeks.
