bidding war was for ABN Amro

but i agree &i think Barclays shares are well worth a buy at this level/time

Interesting stuff..though the bidding war between Barclays & RBS in 2007 i think it was in 2007 nearly bankrupted them. .....

Barclays pulled out and RBS took over...the rest is history!

I think you're right i've always considered Barclays the strongest of the UK banks.
with good results/profits, the price now sits at where we were pre-Covid.
So I too am expecting a further recovery
