I’d imagine perhaps sou Who might well be soon entering into a closed period during negotiations to sell, may have considered a raise to strengthen their hand during any negotiations, and so weren’t backed into a corner buy the buyer knowing they we’re running out of funds.

Investors have pulled $5bn from Hong Kong since pro-democracy protests began in April, highlighting the economic toll taken on the Asian financial hub.

The Bank of England said in its Financial Stability Report, published Monday, that cumulative outflows from investment funds in Hong Kong have reached around $5bn since unrest began. The outflows are equivalent to around 1.25% of the country’s GDP.

“The protests, and their impact on the real economy, highlight political risk as a key vulnerability in Hong Kong,” the Bank of England wrote in its report. “And these political tensions pose risks, given Hong Kong’s position as a major financial centre.”

Well there was definitely a drag on the share price on Friday, despite the momentum the share had on open, relentless selling came in, opportunistic placing being organised, maybe, if the MM have got access to the placing they’ll have a naked short on this, knowing they can replace shares with placing shares.
Alternatively it could be just PI’s locking in profit, however, imho the sells were professionally sold, so I’m saying the least viable explanation imho.
