Yes I know what you mean but the TW sites are only a 15 / 20 min drive between and I would guess that many that work at Honda have purchased or thinking of purchasing these homes.
To retrain 3500 people will take time and is a huge task with maybe a huge cut in wages, this does not help those that have bought new homes with a huge mortgage. !!!!!

Yes you are correct and the TW sites are not far from the Honda plant area on the East side of the A416 / M4 South Marston.

This may well have an effect on TW sales in the Ridgeway area to those that live and work in Swindon and are looking for a home near the works. They may now have to think again.Those houses already sold and mortgages obtained by some of the unfortunate buyers that work at the plant could be effected in the future ??

This situation can only get worse imo and I feel very sorry for all those that have been dragged into this mess.

Worth a read for those effected by the Swindon news. This has nothing to do with the BBC.

The 10% tariff on cars imported into the EU will not be fully phased out until 2027, five years after the Swindon plant is due to close. In 2022 it will still be more than 6%.

Honda’s exit is based on many factors, but Brexit is certainly one by Larry Elliott MP.

This looks like a bit off topic but it will have a serious effect to House building in Swindon and surrounding areas together with the planned new builds and land that has already been purchased for house building. It will effect those houses already purchased by thousands of people who may not be able to sell them. New builds will be put on hold and work / labour will be drastically reduced and redundancy will follow. This Honda plant was huge and the closure will be a total disaster for those effected.

I believe this closure is partly due to brexit, read this report that covers Japanese firms, which together employ about 140,000 people in the UK, have made no secret of their alarm at the prospect that Britain will crash out of the EU without a deal.

Earlier this month, Nissan said uncertainty over Brexit was partly behind its decision to abandon plans to build a new model of one of its flagship vehicles at its Sunderland plant.

When posted BBC news stated that it was thought directly due to companies leaving the UK due to the uncertainty of a no deal brexit.

Yes agree great summary from Tiburn and that is what made me ask the question. As you know we are a bit stagnant ATM around 173/174 and I was wondering what will drive this forward until we see the next drilling assays / reports that are months away. IMO we should be at least 2p now.

Someone mentioned maybe a 50 / 50 deal with DDH1 and to speed up the drilling and maybe bring forward BH etc.
So if a detailed plan is announced this may have the drive we need, hence why I said a spike or back to where we are now until the results are known.

Lets hope for some good news maybe end of this week or next.
