Everton mints are named after the Everton district of Liverpool and were created to be popular with fans of the local football club, Everton Football Club. A local toffee shop, Mother Noblett's, started making the black and white striped mints, with a toffee center, to match one of the club's old kits. The mints became a hit with fans and the name stuck. From the great robot in the sky, easier to cut and paste.
