I’m not sure our share price had started to recover as it closed at almost where it closed on 29 July

In that same period others in the sector have gained such as Evolution approx 5% and Northern Star approx 15% so in reality by comparison we have fallen further but it is likely we have bottomed out and can begin the upward journey

As far as i recall from the last flow sheet i looked Newcrest did install some regrind mills (possibly 2 circuits) and i believe additional floatation for the pyrite and possibly CIL circuit upgrades to improve recovery but i would need to look into that when i have some time as the pub in now calling

Again from memory there was talk about down grading mill circuit to 6mt and also adding magnetic separators and additional CIL circuit but some if not all of that may now have changed as we own the lot and separation of the 2 trains in less important

Again we can speculate but the DFS will tell us as i am sure there will be a few changes from the original Newcrest plan

It generally is oxide ores are closer or at the surface and are weathered and as you go down you find more sulphide ores which can be harder and more difficult to recover and in some cases need roasting (or in modern times Biox technology ) to oxidise the ore to allow mineral recovery but it does vary from mine to mine

clearly you would need to keep the ore separate from each other if putting through a common plant and bypass parts of the process if not needed on one ore but it would not be impossible subject to test work

When they talk about regional hub ie taking ore from various sources if i understand it as long as you do your test work and have flexebility in you plant in can be achieved so given grades for Hav and WDD it could work

I have seen ore from the same mine causing havoc when processing in copper flotation circuits but it can normally be overcome

I was aware of that and i am sure like you would see this as a big part of the future

I have always believed to get the best out of process plants you need to feed at design tons but also fully understand the point you have made on many occasions about grade but since being invested the big question for me has been with only 3mt from Hav although could be 4.5-4.8mt with a second decline why would you derate a train (possibly technical reasons relating to grinding particle size and/or hardness of ore ) and run for 50% of a year as every metaligist i've every come across is looking to run flat out to maximise production

Maybe WDD is the rabbit out of the hat which will allow full time running of the Hav train by alternating the feed between the 2 and allow 10mt on the second train from the other sources they are now finding

Thats why it is such a large mine it was built for high tonnage and not high grade

At 1 or 2 grams that is as good as i think it has ever been and would exceed even the best years of Telfer and be hugely profitable at current gold prices and would be up there with the best in terms of profit so would be world class

As always you are prepared to put ozs to it but tend to avoid costs and share price predictions but as i am sure you will accept there is a lot of could's and should's and until the company issues bankable guidance it is really down to guestimates with yours on ozs well researched and i suspect not far off

Clearly the last update spooked the market and shareholders alike for a number or reasons and as you pointed out if i understood your reply to a mail of mine recently they are drilling at closer distances to prove things up as maybe there is a feeling it is not only the stockpile they have been struggling with on grade

I think the Hav DFS and the March resource update will make things a whole lot clearer and predicable for the next 3 years or so

I also think the sooner the company give longer term guidance for Capex and production for both Hav and Telfer some stability will return to the share price although other factors can also strongly influence that

As you say in time we could be at 500kozs or more if drill results find the gold and copper

Without seeing your calcs or cigarette packet don,t forget with Hav coming on line you will loose upto 50% capacity from Telfer FY26 guidance or possibly more depending on if they continue to use low grade ore or run with a higher grade once drilling and plans are made for Telfer as one of the 2 trains will be dedicated to Hav and the build up to initial design capacity may take a year or two for Hav which could push to FY29 and there may also be some down time on the Hav train if they feel some plant mods are needed as was talked about back in the Newcrest days

No harm in dreaming but as and when Hav DFS lands as well as detailed plans for Telfer we are all as much in the dark as the next person although there are some very good thoughts from people outside the company to use as a guide

The company will issue forward guidance as and when they see fit and i am sure like others I hope it is on the upside

from my working life and in recent years family holidays in Africa my brother, sister and myself and our our partners have clearly told out nephews we are all buying a place in the African bush and when we cannot look after ourselves they are to open the gate and let us walk out to face our maker with the lions

The recent drop in the share price has delayed that plan a little

Thanks for posting this it gives a figure for Evolution to compare with GGP from the starting point of our earlier email exchange and a fairer comparison can now be made

On reflection maybe Spade can accept his remark copied in part below was plainly incorrect and i had no other agenda than to see a fair comparison

Toby tried to cast aspersions on E1’s post by quite blatantly attacking his figures by trying to confuse investors.

It is clear that in the future GGP will reflect its true value but i think it will be a slow road back to 28th July at present as there are a number of years of investment in both Telfer and Hav and hopefully other locations either through discovery or purchase before we deliver profits to match Evolution and others through conventional metrics ie multiples of profit

I would add whilst i may not have owned a company i have run very large divisions of multi national companies in the mineral processing industry in different parts of the world including Australia at the time both Cadia and Telfer we being designed and supplied with equipment and since returning home to the UK smaller buisinesses in building services so please spare me the i have no idea routine

re-read e1's orignal post he quoted figures for underlying profit for evolution and free cash flow for GGP which are far from the same

One is as you point out is gross profit the other is net profit after money owed , invested etc has been paid out so as i said they are not comparable

just because ive only posted in comparison to other a small number of posts it does not make me wrong

i was going to finish but just read your mail

with Hav down grading one mill train to a rumoured 6m ton (i am not sure as have not had an opportunity to discuss this with Sean at a TH if this is to achieve a finer grind for better recover or the Hav ore is harder and needs longer in the mill) and running only 6 months a year for 2.8mt although this will change as and when Hav is upgraded to mentioned 4.8m since the WDD has been mentioned the thought going through my mind given the high grade is to alternate that train with Hav ore which could push 700m ozs plus through that mill alone leaving 10mt of low grade through the second train

Only a niggle in the back of my mind has this thought crossed your mind so the DFS could be interesting

Thanks it does not bother me when the likes of Trippy need to get involved as they either do not grasp the point being made or you have touched a soft spot

Not sure i was opposing E1 as i do agree with where the company is heading and would not dispute most of what he posted after my original reply that it was really him not comparing like for like resulting in an unfair analysis

Any way thanks for the encouragement and i am leaving it there for today at least
