Stephan Bernstein, CEO of GreenRoc, details the PFS results for the new graphite processing plant. Watch the video here.
The Amazon jobs are usually owner/driver roles so of little interest to RM employees, I guess on the flip side if the RM pay etc is so good why do we see so few ex Amazon drivers working for RM, I can't think of any in the 3 DO's I come into regular contact with, plus why do approx. 50% of new starters quit within a month of starting if the pay etc is so good?
The sick pay is the standard pay in the UK, it's only the "gig economy" companies like Amazon who've tired to remove sick pay entitlement. The 1 off in 5 weeks entitlement is down to posties working 6 days a week, the alternative is to have 1 day off a week and so work 5 days, working 5 days/38 hours seems the norm in the UK.
The "one legged" postie probably senses their time is up at RM and will therefore be seeking VR rather than face reduced sick pay entitlement & probably being forced out next year with no IHR. We've at least 10% of our workforce who fall under that category who are already talking about seeking VR.
You do realise there's a massive, and I mean massive, desire for VR, I was shocked to hear that virtually every postie in my medium sized DO with any reasonable length of service is considering seeking VR, even though we have job vacancies not too many posties at present. Although you can why they want VR, if they are reasonably healthy then they'll get similar paid work elsewhere, if they aren't they may as well leave now with a pay off than be forced out within a year. I wouldn't be surprised if 20,000+ employees apply for VR I doubt the business has prepared for the potential uptake or will have a clue how to deal with it.
You sense the union could well be fighting a losing battle as I'd imagine most posties etc would take basically a year salary as VR rather than quit next year when the new later times and the clamp down on sickness pay etc are all brought in, we've already lost two long serving posties recently who've just quit w/o any pay off as they've already had enough.
That's difficult to answer given we've been given no clues as to whether RM are prepared to move on any of their proposals, from what RM have said today it seems they aren't prepared to move on their miserly pay offer.
Where are the 10,000 redundancies going to be made unless the business starts to turn away busines, or replace staff with more expensive agency workers. It's similar to the £1m a day loss/£25m per strike day, the figures just seem to be plucked out of the air by ST.
Problem for ST is that the company is so badly run most staff would happily take redundancy anyway. It's like threatening a child that he won't be allowed to do his homework if he misbehaves!!
ST has previously suggested he wouldn't be posting anything further on Workplace until Friday, he also sent a cryptic diary entry with the 21 Oct ringed which he then promptly deleted. ST's behaviour is a bit odd for the CEO of a such a large company, he seems to think he's another Elon Musk, it's hard to believe the BoD still support what he's doing.
It RM's courier service, it even as it's own website, it's a bit odd it's a service nobody seems to have heard of before

It's not cheap as a one way deliver from Birmingham to Bristol is over £150 for the smallest van!
