Canada’s Cornerstone Capital Resources said on Wednesday that it intended to requisition a general meeting to replace the entire board of LSE- and TSX-listed SolGold.

Cornerstone, which is currently the subject of a hostile takeover by SolGold, owns 7.58% of the company, with other large insider independent shareholders including diversified major BHP (13.64%), gold miner Newcrest Mining (13.57%) and investment manager BlackRock (5.24%).

"I think the view that major's have had about junior's, up until very recently, are that junior's are the short term custodians of major's assets. We certainly don't view it that way. It's our asset and if they want it they'll have to pay for it."

Yup, as Newcrest continue, and indeed increase drilling at Havieron, and we get the ever evolving comments regarding the depth of mineralisation there, maybe missed in the past, it always reminds me of GH's comments back in February 2019 about Havieron:

- Drill holes are only "scratching the surface" of the system

- Potentially very significant system at depth - Down to 1,400m or more

A good, reflective post, IMHO, and refreshing to see another calculated viewpoint, rather than some of the constant ramping and, quite frankly, ridiculous posts that we regularly see about the GGP SP approaching any recent Newcrest Exploration Report. GLA

Yup, it's a very telling interview, with some interesting and pretty frank comments about the junior/major miner relationship.

Also, as you rightly say dsmith, there are also some interesting pointers towards what may be going on in the bigger, Newcrest Mining, global picture.

Some excellent research information is available in the interview. In any commercial deal it's not 100% about resource. It's also about relationships and the symbiosis that develops between two, or more parties.

TBH, I don't know why some people consistently make sp predictions on BB's going forward! Sure, they may get it right a few times, and glorify themselves in the resultant praise that they may receive from others, but, let's be honest here, absolutely nobody gets it right 100% of the time, ever! Most get it right, maybe 20-30% at best! I'll be happy to hear from anyone that's done any better! GLA!

We clearly haven't ended the day yet, but, yes. I have to agree, some maybe got it wrong again. That said. there's still some time before the next quarterly Exploration Report, which I'm sure will provide some further lift before it's release. GLA

CITI also stated, "We upgrade our gold price forecasts to US$1825/oz for 2H20 and to US$2000/oz for 2H21 and CY22. Gold has consolidated in a higher trading range sooner than we expected,"

"The case to be bearish gold is tough, although a much stronger US$, or a hawkish turn from the FOMC (extremely unlikely this year) would be negative for prices. Although at some point, investors will balance risk-reward and take profits. We don’t think we’re there yet."

CITI has downgraded Newcrest Mining to Neutral today, but raised the price target from AUD35.00 to AUD 37.00. They say that recent price appreciation limits upside.

Volume was flat like this, yet again yesterday, until around 2pm, when it picked up considerably, with the rise in the sp following.

Sorry, maybe I missed that, but I thought that your "Forget 20p" post was based on Leningas's ridiculous post, IMHO, about the sp possibly being at that level before the next quarterly Exploration report.
