The majors are getting serious in WA’s Paterson Province, most recently with Newcrest throwing millions of dollars at an expansion of its Telfer gold-copper-silver mine and speeding ahead with the development at the Havieron gold project.

This makes for an interesting story for junior gold explorer Antipa Minerals (ASX:AZY), which not only counts Newcrest Mining (ASX:NCM) as a JV partner in the Paterson, but also Rio Tinto (ASX:RIO) and IGO (ASX:IGO).

And Antipa also has a wholly owned high-grade discovery in the Paterson, Minyari, that sits within 35km of the Telfer mine and processing facility and 54km along strike from Newcrest’s and Greatland Gold’s Havieron project....

Of course another rough & ready, but still factual way of knowing what the assays are saying, in the case of Havieron as an example, have been the superlatives used by Gervaise Heddle over the past few years - Amazing, stunning, remarkable, phenomenal, incredible, spectacular, world class, etc. etc.. Shaun Day continues similarly, and, let's face it, I currently can't see that changing at all going forwards either! GLA!

IMHO, I just don't go with any 'leaked news'. If something major had been 'leaked' we'd have seen a much bigger rise, and, also, a faster rise, rather than a steady move up during the day. IMHO, it's just another peculiarity of AIM in general. That all said, it clearly needed to move up, purely based on what's been happening for months now at Havieron alone, and what's possible imminently. Just my personal view. TT

Thanks for your well reasoned and fair post thelearner. I generally agree with all you say, but in my case, I'm pretty much all in now with GGP, especially after topping up, yet again, over the past few months at the recent c.17p levels. Sure, I could have done better in recent weeks, but, overall, be it 16p, or 17p, it's still ridiculous, based on Havieron alone, let alone all of our other tenements. I'm in my 60's now, so, maybe unlike others, can maybe afford to 'roll the dice' now, especially after, thankfully being in, like you for some time. All the best to all GGP investors! TT
