If I remember correctly the paper share cert was only for a small amount & I think the share price was about 9p not a great return on 20 yrs ! , had a plenty of paper certs then, dot com era , but they got registered on Barclays or TD Waterhouse I think , many moons ago & far to much Rum to blur the corners of the mind .
