Been great to switch off the past couple of weeks and spend some quality time with family and friends. Really hope everyone else here has had a relaxing and enjoyable break.

Looking forward to 2024 and not sure how to feel about KDR. Around the Summer I was confident that the end game was in sight and took the opportunity to significantly average down in anticipation of good news.

Unfortunately the well documented and talked about share issue then followed. Whilst there were positive noises coming out of the AGM do we really understand the reason for the placing in terms of exact timing and value? Yes, the BOD are feathering their nest but why the discount and why before the AGM? Still all seems very odd.

Here's hoping we actually see some return on our investment in 2024. Long term holders certainly deserve it.

I hope that those that are there use it as an opportunity to really grill the BOD. KDR may well come good, and I really hope it does, but this was 'sold' as a business that would make transformational gains for shareholders yet over the past 10 years plus all we have seen is fluffy RNS followed by dilution. Original shareholders who haven't averaged down over the years will effectively be left high and dry ... transformational yes but not for the reasons intended.

The last share issue was simply out of order so, at the very least, we need to know the end goal here. Our figure head is 90!? Not 80. Not 70. Not 60. There is simply no time to waste ...what is the succession plan? KDR needs to put a bow on this business asap, sell up, move on and leave behind a lot of happy shareholders. It can't be allowed to drift on anymore.

Nice spot Yogi re the similarity with the January 2018 RNS, both in respect of ODM lab results. The Prof has practically copied and pasted his opinion.

This RNS was clearly issued to placate shareholders in advance of the AGM. I fear it will do the opposite unless followed by some serious good news update today or tomorrow. This release shows either breathtaking naivety or complete contempt towards LTH in particular. The BOD must do better.

Really feels like we are entering a pivotal week for KDR.

I get it when people say this has been a lifestyle company for the prof and his family, however, this now has to be about leaving behind generational wealth and creating a legacy. That only happens with an Exit (for Finland at least) and the prof is running out of time.

The recent placing, both in substance and form would have been well thought out and meticulously planned, knowing full well the huge potential for fall out at the AGM.

Finland is good to go and I see a big announcement coming in the next few days. If not, Thursday's AGM has the potential to be painful at best.

Someone needs to give the fat lady a kick.

There has to be GREAT news before the AGM rather than good.

The recent placing at a huge discount showed complete contempt for shareholders, old and new. All will be forgiven if this comes good but the AGM could be a little frosty if the BOD don't come bearing gifts.

Not looking for sympathy as we all understand the risks in investing in a company like KDR. What is frustrating is when a company seems to deliberately 'go slow' when it's 100% reliant on investors to fund day to day trading.

My average is now just the right side of 10p but taken a while to get there...

As a LTH I agree with a lot of what you say, Infinity, and I hope you're right that things here will come good.

It's important to stress, however, that not only have LTH needed patience, they've also had to make the difficult decision to (1) watch their investment become practically worthless following placing after placing or (2) try to average down over the years by investing more and more.

As someone who's gone for option (2) I find myself still sat on a significant paper loss and I've invested here far more than I ever intended. Fingers crossed it comes good or my kids are on rice and beans for a few years yet.

Not sure if it's good news or bad news to be honest ...I'd convinced myself that the website was considered irrelevant to the growth plans of the business and therefore not being well maintained. Why update it now? Are they trying to entice new investors? Or just getting things in order?

Be interesting over the coming days to see if the whole website gets a revamp or if it's just the front page.

I think any attempt to say what the share price here could/should be is guesswork.

The management have perfected the art of fluffy releases both here and at CGNR which are presumably designed to keep a lid on any favourable market sentiment. They also choose not to advertise certain actions (which is well within their rights) and it's left to clever folk on here to discover and join the dots of what is happening.

Eventually the companies activities and assets will speak for themselves in terms of an appropriate valuation. I hope for the Prof's sake he is around to see it through and I hope for my sake, having averaged down significantly recently but still being sat on a massive paper loss, that the journey over the past 10 years is worth it!

The working assumption has to be that KDR already has a buyer lined up given the nature of the industry and the number of major players out there. For a number of reasons, I'd say we have to be looking at a deal in the next 6 months. The prof will do well to survive the AGM if he doesn't have very good news and, by now, very good news means complete transparency and timing indication as to the end game.

Unfortunately the prof isn't at the age where he can take a 5 or 10 year view on this anymore, if he wants to be around for the end game. If the prof is to exit the business at the AGM then I hope it's part of the master plan rather than due to ill health. Firstly for his sake but secondly because assuming your CEO is going to live forever isn't exactly taken from the 'how to run a successful business' manual.

In your view, do you think there are any more big plays for us to make now in Finland? Are there any obvious opportunities to exploit or would any new reservations just be bolt ons and tinkering around the edges?

Prof won't be happy... he'll be looking at a discounted placing no doubt to dampen the mood.

I understand why the Prof's motives would be questioned given recent events. However, I'd hope he'd want to be known as the guy who discovered the EU's first diamond mine rather than tarnish is reputation and be the uber rich guy who left small shareholders high and dry for the sake of a few extra £ he'll do well trying to spend given his age.

At 90 years old do we really think an agressive MBO is an option seriously being considered?

Understandably seen very few since last Friday's debacle.

Whilst Peterhouse have a Corporate Finance offering (m&a, restructuring and the like) it looks like the two named associates in the RNS are part of the Corporate broking team responsible for fundraising.

Obviously having an advisor on board who has the CF offering could (hopefully) be helpful down the track...

I absolutely get that the Prof and wider management are interested in looking after themselves first and foremost. If this was a privately owned business that would be accepted by all without question.

However, as a publicly listed entity the management have to do what is right on behalf of a wider group of shareholders. Right now, yesterday's action still doesn't sit right - the Prof is often defended for his lack of comms because he does everything by the book but his decision making is clearly purely driven by personal gain. I expected better.

Complete disregard for small shareholders yet again.

I can't see how KDR can possibly continue the way it is for another 3/5/10 years. A repeat of the past 10 years will be devastating for small shareholders unless someone is in the background paying the bills...but why would they do that indefinitely, at the same time driving up the value of a company they don't own or have any agreement to buy?

Throw in the Prof's age and we have to be looking at real conclusive action in the very short term.
