If they do, ti will be a first! Given that 30% (ish) of todays' trades are A marked, it looks more like a shake out than a concerted sell off to me. I was brought up with the premise "no news is good news", however I will make an exception for the VLS Board. Staying stum for almost two months over the leak plus no comments on the fund raise suggests that whatever they are spending on PR is way too much!! Maybe we shoúld ask Ervington how secure they feel with their investment? They must be looking at a huge loss.

We are still waiting to find out! The holdings > 3% listing on their web site is 2 months out of date. There have been inferences that anothher major player has bought in, possibly Shell - which makes sense given their involvement with the UK rubbish to aviation fuel proposals- but all this is just rumour. VLS needs to upgrae its PR to keep its investors in the picture rather than treat us like mushrooms! I still believe in the product, but the management could do with a shake-up IMHO. Sitting on my hands until the leak issue is resolved as I believe that there is an upside to this company.

I notice that none of the directors has seen fit to buy following the placement as they did in February. I hope that this is due to their insider knowledge of the "leak" position rather than any doubts they may have on the Company's future!

Seems we are in accord with our views. IF the 284K is buy (I agree with you), the MMs are playing fast and loose with the SP and seem to have generated a lot of AT sells as a result. The pessimists are in good voice elsewhere. I remain of the opposing view.

I find it hard to believe that Ervington/Abramovich, given their long association with the company, would sanction a takeover bid at current levels as ISTR that they were major shareholders when the SP was over £2 and would therefore stand to lose substantially as a result.

Seems we can add Landsdown to the list of those that didn't buy in. The plot thickens.
Today's madness makes no sense at all. Whoever bought the fund raising issue at 10p is out 15% which is a lot money!! Surely some sense will prevail once the leak issue is resolved. Meanwhile the BBs are full of scaremongering etc. and the MMs are having a field day on the back of the current uncertainty. Personally I'm still sitting on my hands as I don't have the spare cash to average down a bit further..

It seems neither Abramovich nor Ervington nor Henderson bought in to the latest fund raise. So who did - Shell and BA perhaps? Or are there a lot of 10p shares out there looking for a home? Time will tell. What we need now is a leak(ed) story.

I tend to agree. Wonder if Shell have taken a position as they seem to have a lot of spare money in their coffers (see BuyBack news). It's alla question of believing and holding your nerve or bottling it. My old Mum always said only risk what you can afford to lose - sound advice.

Interested to see if the Board buys into this placing. The CEOs current holding is derisory imho.

Question is RAs position. With his holding he can effectively block any hostile takeover and, given how long he has been holding this share, his current position must surely be at a higher SP than the current level. IMHO any outside takeover bid should be over 30p to reflect current values, and even then I'm not sure that it would succeed. I'm continuing to sit on my hands.

The lethargic response to the leak announcement last week is surprising given all the positive news in other areas. Surely potential investors aren't waiting for a final settlement of costs to be announced by ENVIA before investing at the current bargain price. I see no logic in selling at current levels and am surprised by today's prevalence of sellers. Am I missing something ?

Velocys plc (VLS.L), the renewable fuels company, announces that it has been informed by ENVIA Energy, LLC (the operator of the ENVIA Oklahoma City plant and licensee of the Company's reactor and catalyst technology) that a leak has been detected that is believed to have originated inside one of the plant's two Fischer-Tropsch (FT) reactors. The Company is confident that the issue is not a result of a flaw in the core Velocys FT technology.

Based on the preliminary investigation by ENVIA and supported by Velocys personnel, the Company currently believes the root cause of the issue originated with the design of an ancillary system."

Velocys advise that as a minority shareholder, they are unable to comment further. As site operator, are you able to provide an update to the original RNS

I agree MM. It should be possible to contact ENVIA direct and ask them for an update. I believe that it might be possible via their web site. Like you I am LTBH and averaged down to a realistic expectation. Wonder what Ervington are averaged down to?

There do seem to be an unusually high percentage of automatic trades for quite large holdings today. Could it be that MMs are expecting an increase in demand quite shortly, or am I just being an optimist?

Good question. A lot of big sellers but few big buyers for no obvious reason. IMHO it makes no sense to get out now unless you are a day trader or of a very nervous disposition. Until the leak issue is settled I think the SP will not move significantly despite other positive news . There must be an update at the AGM next week or Pummell will get a roasting from shareholders.

Looks as though someone has taken your advice Mike. For the second day running a largish buy later in the day. Today's volumes trivial but, since buys exceed sells by 3:1, I don't see why the SP continues to stagnate with a pretty big spread. Oh for something worthwile from Velocys!

Not really left - just nothing more to say. I'm still optimistically holding but the failure of Velocys or Envia to add anything to the original leak reportage (even Pummells piece in the Annual Report adds nothing other than the hint that it might be a squabble over who pays) is not clever on their part. It does not reflect well on the management, who seem to have had PR issues for a considerable time.
