Our latest Investing Matters Podcast episode with QuotedData's Edward Marten has just been released. Listen here.
Superb announcement yesterday, I've been here over a year now, very heavily invested (probably overweight). Alas if only I had got the shares at the price some of our long term holders had. The news flow throughout the year has been positive and continually reinforced my belief that this is starting to become a proper company, to be taken seriously. I have no idea what the divi will be, I think some of the numbers being proposed are pipedreams but hey we all dream and what do I know. The important thing is, we know there is going to be one and that it will be a 'significant '.
Regarding the buyer I personally don't think for one minute that it will be Tesla, yep they are probably the most famous EV company run by a very public charismatic guy but imho Russo- American relations too unstable for Tesla to be exposed here. Dozens of other rapidly growing EV / EV battery companies now in China Nio, Xpeng as well as Japan.
Big shout out to all the top researchers on this site, they know who they are and yes I love the nautical banter. Keep it up Tilly love your posts you sound like a fun bloke and they always make me smile.
Likewise Bazworth, I have been preoccupied with family health issues and only checked in today to see what was happening. I held shares in an ISA and Trading Account with Interactive Investor and both holdings show zero value now. I had a corporate action note to say the shares would be converted to ADSs in the trading account but it was unlikely that they would be for the ISA. I'm really not sure what happens to those the ISA?
Davand no not anymore. I was very heavily in YGEN and came out some weeks ago but I follow continuously and want to get back in at some point when I can see clarity and growth beyond Covid. Fundamentally I like health/Bio stocks as it my profession and YGEN ticks the boxes for me but I think despite its testing input etc Covid has been a negative.
Frankie, no not a deramper at all. Apologies if it has been discussed ad nauseam but I only saw this on the BBC at 6am.
BTW I'd love to be able to set off to school again but I'm afraid this was nearly 50yrs ago so I suspect I am older than you.
PCR tests now scrapped for positive asymptomatic LFT results.
I think we will see a fairly rapid phase out of PCR testing over the next few months. It played a big part in the early days when there was a lot of uncertainty about the LFTs and it has helped identify new variants, but only a fraction of PCR tests are actually sequenced. The LFT, although not 100% perfect does still help break transmission which is the main aim and it does appear that this variant is really not severe at all - heavy cold (assuming you have already been vaccinated). I think 2022 will be the year we just accept Covid common respiratory disease and learn to live with it. From YGENs perspective I'm sure it will still provide a trickle of income but the business needs to switch to its pre covid mentality and start building from there again.
Hawks dont be silly and naive. EUA are a minnow for BR, this how they operate - long and short positions. Its frustrating but that's life. Personally I buy to hold but I totally get why people short its all about making money.
wasnt it mooted sometime ago that YGEN wanted to list on NasDaq or have I imagined this? I think this might be a real solution to the poor SP movement. The lack of liquidity kills this share, increased trading would at least give it a chance. Amryt, who I hold are doing exactly this to hopefully improve trading volume, will be interesting to see if it works.
haven't checked on here for a while since I bailed out, but thought I would look after results update. I honestly cant believe the sp hasn't moved (or maybe I shouldn't be surprised). Good luck to everyone but even though markets are down IMHO better picking elsewhere at the moment.
Bakky its no bull.
50% loss made on EUA.
Davand agree on the 17M+ but the point is its not reflected in the SP.
morning all, more positive news. I am now out of YGEN (took a 5 figure loss, but have already recovered 50% of it and expect to break even soon) I continue to watch and research as I do believe this will turn and I will buy back when there is some sustained upward momentum. It was actually one of my favourite stocks 2 yrs ago but as we all agree the last 18months have been painful esp when when big gains were to be had elsewhere. Good luck to all.
Started cycling at the start of the first Covid lockdown when the roads were empty. It was an absolute joy it's now become an obsession. Abuse from psychotic motorists a regular occurrence. Ironicly most of them look like the sort that really need to get on a bike.
Here here Tilly.
Ian, correct to a point re-viral load and I agree masks are to protect others and do work if you buy a decent mask, but the severity of disease is ultimately due to an individuals immune response.
Oh no that's the kiss of death if the Fool is tipping us.
its not difficult to watch at all, just because someone may have jumped ship doesn't exclude them for jumping back on again. That is what trading is. If the potential is as big as most people on here seem to think it is a few pence is nothing.
Bumble I tend to agree but anyone who can lose £500,000 without worry needs to get take a long look at themselves and do something beneficial with their wealth and life.
true, I cant disagree....surely this time. I'd settled for 20p at this rate.
a couple of decent buys today, have a feeling something happening soon.
