big 500 share/ £85 this morning.
JAdam, agree not sure why everyone keeps topping up and averaging down when the share price is on a slow downward track. Top up on a rise when there is momentum. Good money after bad starts to come to mind.
Steve where did you see the broker valuation for 26.6p?
well its been a hugely disappointing few weeks and no more rabbits in the hat. I think the whole Covid play has been a bit of a red herring and I think YGEN have almost been duty bound to be active in this field. The tests look fine but they are fairly slow and PCR based which is not rocket science and anyone can and are following suit.
Ultimately the company will sink or swim on sales revenue, I'd also wish they would consolidate the shares it tidies the company up and makes it more credible IMO.
he mentioned fragmentation and mid sized acquisitions, always the possibility that they themselves are acquired? Could be part of the log term strategy. I'd also like to see a SP consolidation, I think it tidies up the business and gives it more credibility which at the moment I think it is struggling with in the market.
agree on US penetration that is exactly what I was hoping to see. This is a mid to long term hold IMO.
spot on pacman, I have followed this BB since Xmas and by enlarge it has been informative which is what a healthy BB should be. I have gleaned some interesting facts and been made aware of news feeds that I might otherwise have missed but I think there many blinkered individuals on this BB who hounded out any contributor that challenges YGEN and seem to take offence that people are actively trading the share on a day to day, week to week basis. I have not been invested in the company long enough to know all the ins-and outs of its history, but I have been in it long enough to feel very disappointed.
I hope I'm wrong but I am not holding my breath for any great shakes tomorrow. I just don't think market sentiment is with this stock until significant numbers are being delivered over a longer of time than the last 6 months and then it maybe re-rated. I also don't think for one moment that the small buys on the rise or sells are holding this stock back, these trades are insignificant. Its a solid 'small' company with good foundations but has to it with the big boys. Lots of molecular diagnostic companies out there.
thanks, lets hope there is some meat on the bones to give the SP some momentum. Already nursing big losses in companies from here and the other side of the pond. One thing I've learnt over many years is that those companies that appear best primed to deliver big rewards rarely do. There always a fly in the ointment.
when are the next financials due?
the first shot primes the immune system, the second shot should effectively give it a further boost and is particularly needed in those individuals who have a low titre Ab (poor immune response), these tend to be the elderly and extremely young children. Ironically with Covid young children seem to be the least affected.
Personally I think Covid will be a virus that become established in the environment and we will just learn to live with it. Whether its becomes seasonal like influenza we don't know, like many other things about the virus we don't know.
my thruppence for what its worth, is that as great as the Cov Kit announcement was, we are one of literally dozens of companies in this arena. Any flexible diagnostic set up worth its salt has by now jumped on board the Covid train. These announcements merely add more substance YGEN but for me the only thing that will move the SP are real £ numbers, not announcements of intent or tweets. I think this company has great potential but ultimately it has to market and sell. Regarding a vaccine, agree this is probably the way out of this whole **** storm, but its still some way down the line and true efficacy is not known yet. Coronavirus vaccines have not been as successful as influenza vaccines so there is still an unknown.
JAdam,
its a Diagnostic company not a Pharma company (big difference)
Hi Bakky,
Sorry, yes I meant exactly that. I think it underpins everything, but it will be nice to hear it officially rather than speculate. I have followed this thread for the last 6 months and there are many people on here far more knowledgeable than myself on YGEN and they seem confident so I am not overly worried. Coming from a background of 30yrs plus in Biotech/drug discovery I just know not to count the proverbial chickens. Incidentally, like a few others on here I think the Covid saga is a nice side show that hopefully brings in decent revenue, but there are many players now and the guys that got in early made the killings. My inbox is spammed with companies offering Covid testing kits/reagents etc you just have to be seen wearing the trousers.
CooperD,
I hope so, although my naturally pessimistic nature coupled with experience from previous and current investments makes me think that most of the potentially good news will already be incorporated into the sp value. I think any changes north will be down to absolute trading values and potential new market exposure. Changes south will be far greater than the upside if some of the eagerly anticipated approvals don't happen. From someone who is invested in AMARIN I've learnt never to take anything for granted.
for what its worth the share price is not being held back by small trades, as you say these are insignificant. It is where it is because there is no news or figures to take it further....simple as.
