Just heard from azamara Beach, and as you suspected they have cancelled all sailing now until May. Bit disappointed in them to be honest. Not because they have cax my sailing but 48 hours ago (two days after paying my balance) they offered me an incredible upgrade that would normally cost 5 grand for a grand. Looks like I will be booking with us again. Only mentioned as you said you might try and find out if the cruise I mentioned would sail.
Beachbum, you have misunderstood. I know Saga have delayed of course. My question was about azamara who at noon today confirmed the cruise from Barcelona on 17th April was still going. As was their first sailing for this year the one due to leave the week before terminating at Barcelona. I assume you are aware azamara are owned by RCL. No prob, perhaps are wires have crossed. Take care, stay safe.
Sorry everyone else but to you only beach. What's your honest opinion of the chances of azamara journey sailing from Barcelona 17th April 2021 as planned. Value your opinion for obvious reasons. By the way for what it's worth at your average price I think you're going to do well. Good luck all holders.
Thanks beachbum. I bet you and I have surprised quite a few on here this morning with our comments on commission. You are of course correct regarding bulk purchases of cabins at net prices then being marked up. Still at much lower prices than the cruise lines offer direct to public. Not unusual for these agents to take full decks and on rare occasions almost the full ship. Gooluck with your agency, it's been a terribly year for you all. thomson
Been away for a while and not looked at all the posts over last few weeks but you people forecasting profit/costs don't appear to take into account the commission of up to 30 percent the company will be paying to the top agents. Income will be nothing like the daily rates you are quoting for the cruise operations.
Well certainly not bad news. The US Centre for disease control (CDC) has lifted the no sail ban on cruise lines wanting to sail from US ports. Just mentioning in case not all were aware. The ban was expected to be kept in place when it expired on 31st October (as it was a number on times previously) but this will now allow a " phased approach " for cruises to sale again from US ports. Keep well everyone.
At time of posting £140.00 per share. Do as many calcs as you want but that is what the shares are currently worth, simples.
They are changing hands at that price so thats what they are worth!!!!!!!! My gut feeling is the biggest shareholder and his family will take us out at about 2 quid. DYOR.
Good morning Smorty. Or do you prefer Stormy (anagram for those who have not worked it out) Have you got any other bad news for us this week? Advice for holders from a very experienced and wise investor, never take a post from someone who claims to be a "new poster" or "new investor" seriously. They might be just looking to wind you up because only a stupid idiot would think anything posted on here will affect the share price.
Interesting few days ahead........ good luck all.
Thanks for the post Batfasted. zccax77 thanks also for giving your advice/comments. Experienced investor that is correct for me for sure but experienced poster I am not so sure. lol. I upset too many posters for that title. The best advice at this time I am comfortable giving you is to google any term you are not familiar with (rights issue, share placing for example) I am sorry to admit not being comfortable trying to advise on a more individual basis. You will learn a lot from Googling. I am sure you will understand much better over the next few days/weeks. You will receive the full facts by post in due course. Good luck.
Hello. I really am pleased "I make you all laugh" Its good to know. I am genuinely sorry your investment in Saga has gone so horribly wrong for you though. Its also a great shame that your thoughts that you posted a bit back "the insurance division will be doing so well" it will more than cover the huge costs of the travel division. Its a pity that you did not take more notice of my posts many months ago as you will now be aware my predictions have a habit of coming good (if you have been back to March 2010) The truth of the matter is it would take me weeks to write on here my research results. You correct however, I am not privileged to any more information that is not available to all of you. That's why it surprises me so much that you paid so much over the top for your Saga shares. As long ago as March I warned the shares could drop under 20p, what on earth were you thinking off. My comments are in response to your aggressive reply to my honest post earlier and in no way are aimed at the very many polite and honest people who believed in Saga at the time of the IPO. It is unlikely I will waste anymore of my time replying to your sarcastic posts. The truth hurts I know, remember I am a Doctor. Do more research, I hope you can recover some of your losses. Good Luck all you very decent Saga share holders, things will get better I am sure.
Hello Bill. I am sure it is a genuine question and not at all an unreasonable one, I am not however able to give on here all the facts I am aware off that warrants the sweeping statement I made. I do a lot of research, have a lot of experience of the stock market and look into the known facts a lot rather than listening to silly comments from inexperienced posters. DYOR. No one can be sure/correct 100% of the time but I am convinced this Company will survive under this new team. Ignore that £1.80 though (apart from the consolidation) that is history and we wont see that again for quite a long time. Good luck with your investment, I expect to have sold all but 10% of my holding by Christmas with a bit of luck. But then again, things change and I will not hesitate to buy even more shares if I see an opportunity to make money.
