The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode with London Stock Exchange Group's Chris Mayo has just been released. Listen here.
Being a fairly sheltered spot off the coast at Bangor (NI) or Ballyholme, its a popular anchorage for the bigger ships and tankers prior to coming into Belfast port. As Tango said, it's maybe waiting for the other girls.
There's no way it would be coming into Bangor itself as there's no facilities there capable to handle a big article like Viking Sun.
She'll create a bit of interest if anchored there as the anchorages are fairly close to shore and viewable along quite a long stretch of coastline there.
That's a fair enough question to ask TTMaB.
For a start Brian Raven has a history of success. I believe he's very clear in what he wants to achieve and also believe he can be quite ruthless to get there (not a bad thing in my eyes).
The management team have got rid off or encouraged out, the advisers who weren't profitable for the company. They appear to want bigger producing advisers and ones that utilise TAVIs own investment propositions, hence increasing their funds under management.
Introducing a fund with a high level of capital protection and still with reasonable growth potential (backed by Morgan Stanley) i feel was excellent timing with the market falls we seen. The clients in these funds will be happier than most equity investors recently.
As for the potential of FUM increasing, their Capital Protected fund I see as a very attractive option for clients. Deposit savings rates are the lowest they've ever been and customers will want other options for higher growth potential. At the same time they may not be prepared to jump into the equities arena without any protection at all.
My concern with TAVI is that although they see themselves as taking over other companies and increasing their FUMs, I see them as a takeover target themselves at some point with some of the bigger DFMs or networks.
I'd want to see quite a rise in the share price before that might happen.
All just my thoughts. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.
It's good to see the views of regular posters here, whether these are positive views, negative ones or anywhere in between.
I was following this LSE INFA page for quite a while myself reading the posts, comments, etc of you regular posters and appreciated everything you shared here.
I only decided recently to register on the page and to start posting my own thoughts and some items I've came across relating to INFA, H & W and general shipping related news that could be of interest.
It got me thinking. I imagine there are a lot of folk out there reading these INFA posts and maybe not commenting or sharing their thoughts, the same as I was.
Here's my idea. Why not simply say hello here on this post ? Let us know you're out there. Let us know your thoughts. Even if you come across anything of interest INFA related, please do share this too.
The more folk commenting here the merrier and if we get some more info from this even better.
We're ticking along steadily here with the share price movng up. There appears to be a bit more confidence coming into the market in recent weeks so hopefully this will reflect in the share price.
I'm not sure the dividend reinstatement will occur with the uncertain market conditions at the minute. I'm also not convinced the dividend announcement was anything other than for positive PR reasons and to get the stock more noticed in the AIM marketplace (as it was a very minimal dividend amount).
There's nothing wrong with positive PR and I'm all for promotion of the stock. Personally though I'd rather the dividend was brought in at a time when there was more confidence that it could be maintained for the medium to longer term, rather than started and then stopped again.
I still remain very positive on this share and the management team in place to take it forward.
All in IMHO
Cookie. This post from the NW Mail earlier today makes reference to the land at Barrow where Port Meridian own land and have easements there.

I've only just noticed this online but the Seatruck owned MV Arrow that was in H & W docks a few weeks back ran aground a few days ago in Aberdeen.
On vesselfinder It appears to be currently on route now to Liverpool with an expected arrival tomorrow morning.
I understand though it was on a 2 week lease to Serco for the Aberdeen / Lerwick route so not sure if she's back in service to Liverpool or heading here for assessment / repairs ?

I took a drive down to Belfast earlier and it's a very impressive sight to see the 2 Viking ships docked back to back. There really was quite a stir in the area with a lot of folk stopping, taking photos, etc.
We honestly do get cruise ships coming to Belfast regularly, lol, however I think the novelty for us locals is that you can get to less than 50 metres from the 2 ships and see the sheer size of them, rather than seeing them from a distance to where they normally dock across the dock channel at the cruise ship docking.
The 3rd Viking ship is afloat just outside the Building dock and the Stena Europe is in dry dock looking very small in comparison.
It's just a short article but good publicity for H & W in N Ireland's biggest selling daily newspaper the Belfast Telegraph.
https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/business/northern-ireland/harland-and-wolff-hard-at-work-as-ferry-and-cruise-firms-use-coronavirus-shutdown-to-dock-in-belfast-for-maintenance-39319655.html#
The rigging team were busy today at H & W. Stena Europe had its 30 tonne engine popped in earlier.
At 30 tonne that's a huge number of horses to push it through the waves.
30 tonnes is an big number of horses powering
You post Speedy about the anchorages of the Devon coast. These include 3 cruise ships at anchorage, the Carnival Breeze, Carnival Magic and Carnival Valor.
You then post Cookie, could these be heading to H & W ?
Hmmm. I wonder could they ? Have a read of this article today from 'The Maritime Executive' re Carnival. It's interesting.
It could be a possibility they could come to H & W, or indeed it could be a possibility that i ve too much time on my hands and I'm trying too hard to suss out what work might be coming into the yard next.

Interesting reading here on energyvoice.com re future UK decommissioning work after the Shell vessel 'Curlew' going to Norway.
It's good to hear Will Rowley beating the drum for UK decommissioning work and even better to hear H & W get a mention. There are 4 EU approved recycling facilities in the UK of which H & W being one of them. Regarding the Curlew vessel, in the UK only H & W and ABLE in Teeside have the capacity to take in a vessel of Curlew's size.
Hopefully if there are more vessels/rigs of this size and if this work stays in the UK, then we'll be in a 50/50 situation of maybe bringing this work to Belfast.
I've popped the link below.

Good thinking Bat Man (or Si Man) but I'm hoping your tankers aren't needed.
Hopefully after the extensive research and reports submitted to DAERA with the ML application that they'll be content that INFA are doing everything they need to minimize environmental impacts.
Just thinking out loud here again, but I'm wondering that once DAERA issue their ML decision how long will it be before the Environment Minister actually issues his decision.
We'll know these answers fairly soon I imagine.
You won't need any tin hat Si, lol. Your points are very valid and it's good to share our thoughts here, even if we don't always agree.
I've always known the buck stopped with Edwin Poots and indeed I've previously emailed him before Christmas. DAERA also received an email of my support for the IM project during the consultation process.
I'm living in N Ireland and why I emailed him again is that we've recently had an announcement of 600 job losses at Bombardier in NI. Bombardier is literally beside the H & W site and these guys are mainly from the area and 20 mile radius. This massive job loss makes the ML and IM project now even more essential for the local area. More than ever now we need the H & W jobs secured and if we can get some of these 600 highly skilled guys back in work too then all the better.
This change in circumstances locally re jobs in the last few weeks means a lot more is at stake re the granting or otherwise of the ML. Mr Poots will be well aware of this, however I think it's good that the local politicians are updated on public sentiment when circumstances change.
I kept my email fairly brief rather than some of the spiels I can do at times, so even if it does get to his eyes he won't taking too much time over it.
Ta for your thoughts on this Si, healthy discussion is always good I feel.
Reading Tango's below post about objectors writing letters to register their protest and the 'don't minders' doing nothing has got me thinking.
The final investment decision regarding the marine license is down to Edwin Poots, MLA.
Now the objectors lobby as many people as they can to increase the likelihood of their voice being heard.
Here's my thoughts. We do exactly the same with our thoughts and forward these directly to Mr Poots. We could also encourage as many people to do the same (obviously assuming they feel they way we do about the opportunities INFA can provide to so many people).
I've just emailed Mr Poots myself, stating various points Inc why I feel the granting of the marine license is essential on so many fronts. The reasons include the security of existing jobs, the potential for many more jobs for NI, the positive financial impact these jobs bring to other businesses with spending, as well as other benefits for the local economy.
Obviously Mr Poots will make the final decision on all data he has at hand (and not just the DAERA report). He'll also have letters of objection on his desk. I think he needs to hear the thoughts of the supporters for it too !
He now also has my email of support towards the granting of the ML as off 20 minutes ago. If anyone else sees this as a good idea or something they also want to do, then ive pasted below contact details for Mr Poots .

If a positive trading update with absolutely no data provided can give a 20%+ uplift, then im looking forward to the result some actual positive data can provide.
The Protected fund certainly seems to have performed in recent times and I imagine will have caught the eye of investors. Particularly when there's the volatility and uncertainty still in equity markets this could be a very good option for cautious investors still wanting growth potential above deposit savings rates.
Fingers crossed the FUM will make good reading when released.

I've pasted below a link to the Belfast Harbour Facebook page. It's an impressive sight to see 3 the Viking Cruise ships in Belfast.

I'd be disappointed if this was only as low as 1p by year end dhub. The potential here (imho) is mind blowing. With Islandmagee, H & W and Barrow all major game changers we could be in for some amazing future figures.
JW's business acumen and his ambition for INFA really does have me excited as to where this share could go. Obviously we'll need the business partners to move forward and again JW and the board seem to be mixing in the company of some big hitters in the business world, Navantia, Vitol, etc.
I'm just hoping the financials will be there to take this ambition and these projects to the heights they could go to.
Great info Dawski. Ta for sharing here.
Here's a post from Cruise Industry News from 2 months ago. Maybe the contracts referred to in this include the Viking ships.
