ATamerinvestor :"Pull up the SP chart and lay it out with the plethora of RNS releases. " Just watch how many RNS's ECR release this year, top notch geologists directing the drill rig around our acreage based on 48 hour assay results or is that my BS ramping shotgun blowing off again" - keep it ****ed for now. Nobody will be happier than me if you're right but the RNS train hasn't started rolling yet and I was simply stating that a JV announcement wasn't the only reason GGP hit 40p (ok 38.5p ;-)) it was only one aspect of it's growth. We need a steady stream of good news.
Regarding GGP and it's rise - it wasn't all due to a JV announcement, far from it. The SP rose relatively steadily (with some nice tick ups and downs) due to regular RNS updates. Pull up the SP chart and lay it out with the plethora of RNS releases. It was a 9 to 12 month burn....DYOR and don't listen to the astronauts
@ Saber see my post below. A rise will come with sustained good news comms - you mention you're in GGP (I'm not and sadly never was) - take a look at that chart over the last 12-18 months and read in conjunction with their RNS updates - long and steady with some significant up-ticks. If someone shouts "to the moon" filter them ;-) GL
@AG1989, @Gino2903 and @LeFlic17 - I think we're on the same page. The fundamentals are good, progress is being made, we have a knowledgeable man at the top and there's a broker in-tow to raise awareness. A steady stream of RNS comms is key to gaining momentum and the real value of the company will be realised.
I'm reading a lot about SP jumping to 6p/10p and beyond upon announcement of a JV. I agree a this would be welcome news although I don't see such a stellar jump on that news alone. We need regular and sustained RNS updates on drilling, results, JV licences etc etc to keep current interest and to get noticed by some larger investors. Keep the news coming and we should see steady growth with the odd jump up on really good news and the odd ease-back when not so good.
The fundamentals look good - decent territories, looks like there's some shiny stuff in the ground and the potential of a JV or two coming over the horizon. The CEO looks and sounds trustworthy and gives enough belief that shareholder value might actually mean something to him. What's not to like?
In my humble and by no means expert opinion, the news in the RNS had been baked into the price, the only thing novel in there was the terms of the JV which from a short-term perspective weren't great - from a long-term perspective it brings a bit of cash and pushes expense responsibility to Capstone but they get a decent deal. The retrace is steeper than anyone expected but in the cold light of day probably not unexpected. The current red trend will probably continue until the assay results and then level out, unless they're incredible?
If you're in this for 12 months+ and believe in the viability of the business and Bill's management acumen then none of this volatility should disturb you too much
I may have given away my view of short-sellers in the post but to be honest, if that's how they roll then good luck to them. You could say the long-term holders are getting a benefit from the short-sellers - when the price dips they buy more hoping for the later uptick....
I've been deliberating this post for a while but the last 48hrs has seen volatility in both the SP and the reaction of people to posts that don't meet their own view.
Whatever your view, we're all either one or the other because we've got a vested interest in the SP.
If we hold a long position, we're going to talk positively about the prospects because we believe in the short/medium/long term prospects of the stock and want it to rise - this positivity will be seen by some as ramping.
If we hold a short position [filthy creatures ;-)], we're going to point out the negative aspects because we believe and want it will drop - this negativity will be seen by some as de-ramping.
Opinions my fellow posters are like ar$e-holes, everyone has one and some like to show theirs off in public in the form of a bulletin-board post!
Embrace the madness......
