The excess stock they wrote off ended up on the samplesite, there were estimations at the time, and im sure someone could likely work it out, but the order numbers were sequential. last order number i saw was less than 50k, even if we double that to 100k - the items were only worth £5 each - assume every order was 1 item £500k assume every order was 10 items, £5m - its profit as you say, since they were items that were written off but I wouldnt hold out for recovering much of that 800m stock
Sold at 480 🤣🤣
Jesus, its took us a month to potentially close above 400, i dont think we should be expecting 500 by the weekend lol. baby steps but looking positive
Yeah but only +0.09% and that was yesterday anyways, wouldnt explain the pull back today. may just be some profit taking or even mm games, who knows really
How do you know its a buy when it says “unknown” could just as easy be a sell
“aside from the uk”….. our economy still looks bad compared with other countries, and looking bad doesnt attract investment in uk based companies. boo may be in other markets but its predominantly in the uk. it sounds good, just wouldnt get my hopes up for a turn around this year imo
Where are you seeing big buys from ii’s after close at? alls i see are unknown trades - i.e could be buy OR sell, and an uncrossed trade.
Buying stock to give away for free in the hopes of the sp increasing? nah think youre very much in the minority there tbh
didnt somebody work out the samplesite would only fetch a few million anyways, like low single digit millions? even if it sold out its not going to male much difference in the grand scheme of things
Is there any technicalities to what youre saying claire or are you just guessing? id very much welcome a fast rerate but today doesnt prove much to be honest, most of the market was up on inflation data also but we cant assume the whole market is going to rerate. im honestly not trying to pick a fight I just want to know is there analysis behind what youre saying? theres been chatter of a fast rerate for weeks now
Gap up to the 8’s? you mean the £3.8’s 🤣 cant even mange £4 yet dont be getting too excited
@netzero
speculation or have you seen some articles, and could you link them for the rest of us to see if you dont mind
I dont think the market had anything to do with over ordering. pretty sure they said so themselves, they over ordered during covid when thier sales were rapidly growing, nobody knew when shops would reopen, so it did kinda make sense to have more stock than normal because you were selling more… sales just went back to normal afterwards but youre still left with more than normal stock. it was an error with hindsight but they are correcting it now. unless theres another pandemic like covid I cant see the company doing that again.
Excuse the ignorance but whats the significance of 10 weeks? or are you referring to end of their year?
tbh ive recently bought in here from BOO, asos management seem to have their heads screwed on, the changes their making while slow, do seem to be working. Its not going to happen overnight but they are on the right tracks to getting this back to profit, and once the macro’s ease and they do start showing decent profit and paying off some debt the sp will recover without question. it has a lot going for it, I wouldnt worry too much off the day to day movements.
Wasnt expecting that rns for sure :o
they want the old management out and put thier own in instead. 100% they will buy revb at some point this year. excellent play imo
I think he means that every single share is now owned by somebody, which is utter nonsense and he has noway of knowing it even if it were true
Source?
Your math is off, its a little over £9k profit. still not bad for 3 minutes work, but if youve got a million to spend you probably arent bothered about 9 grand
Absolutely not, unless of course you think most of the uk markets would also spike on this info, i’d hazzard a guess it is unrelated to anything asos specific
….what did i miss? when did they sell?
Seems strange to me that hes stopped just short of the 10% mark…. wonder why
