Should of started in October23 Oct 2024 08:22
Every hype every year states we will start in October ! Now it's October and nowt has happened.
This was a statement in the press last year in April hoping to start last October.
So we have missed this year. Those arguments against are looking pretty stupid, every day from now.
This is a very pleasant surprise. Kefi Gold & Copper (KEFI) has announced the signing of the Final Umbrella Agreement for the project financing of the Tulu Kapi gold project in Ethiopia and that it is preparing for full construction start to coincide with the next dry season at Tulu Kapi, which is expected to start in October. What very good news!
That is with the Umbrella Agreement setting out all syndicate roles and finance conditions, including now providing for an up to circa $245 million package from co-lenders, and follows co-lender Africa Finance Corporation reaching an agreement with the Ethiopian Government enabling the same local rights and protections, with Kefi Executive Chairman Harry Adams thanking the new Minister for Mines, H.E Habtamu Tegegn, and his team βfor their energetic leadership and his commitment to rapidly advancing the mining sector in Ethiopiaβ.
There still remains βEthiopian Government's formal confirmation of the few remaining outstanding items, notably clarification of the details of capital controls for internationally syndicated project financingsβ. It is though added that the principles have already been approved and the above-noted progress further encourages. There is also some residual project equity finance, but Kefi has plans in place to mostly meet its contribution at the subsidiary level and βconsiders that the potential exercise of existing KEFI warrants will complete the required equity requirement and will leave KEFI with an economic interest of 70-80%β.
The shares have currently responded up by over 15% to 1.05p, but the still less than Β£42 million market cap compares to we previously-noted it stated βassuming an ownership levelβ¦ of say 77%, the NPV to KEFI of just our Ethiopian project is estimated at US$251 millionβ¦ beneficial interest in our Saudi projects, at various commodity price levels, presents an aggregate (preliminary estimate of) NPV similar to that of the Ethiopian projectβ.
We therefore continue to consider that Ethiopian Government formal confirmation and progress ahead of full construction start in October
