In simple terms it looks like aviation fuel is going to cost around 50% more than a year ago, for quite some time. Does anyone know what these means for profitability going forward. Can EJ even break for fuel 50% more expensive? I believe they have quite a lot hedged at the moment, but they are not taking out any new hedges at the moment, it could all turn quite unpleasant quite quickly if these carry on in the Gulf.

I can't imagine much share price movement up or down in the next 10 days; until Trump gets his little Iraq adventure over with. Once the outcome of that is known, I would expect 30-40p change one way or the other!

People taking the 13.2p before the 13.2p. Quite clever when you think about it.

Marshall Wace shorting down to 0.68% now, BlackRock only 0.59%. At least the 'experts' don't expect much more of a downside. In regard to the dividend, recent years seem to suggest the post ex div fall is likely to be less than 13.2p.

Quite a few, judging by today's start! However, I think the Elephant in the room is not EJ, but something else orange. If he gets any more gun ho, EJ could fall 50p in a few hours. Still, I am hoping for something closer to 5.50p, before I continue my managed retreat.

As AIGEZJ suggests, both brokers holding shorts reduced their exposure on the 16th. Shorts are basically about as low as they historically get now.

Someone sold £7m worth of shares late yesterday.

Marshall Wace, have reduced their shorting slightly. Now just below 1%.

Walleye Capital shorted Easy Jet today. It would seem to be a strange time to do it. Not sure if there are too many downwards pressures on the price going forward.

In regard to the dividend reinvestment plan, how do these normally work. I can only presume there is some kind of discount offered or tax advantage?

Results should be enough for positive share movement, but I had expected / hoped for a bigger dividend. Doesn't make you want to hold on to them long term.

I would say the Jet2 results are very average. If Easy Jet post results like that, it will be all doom and gloom next Tuesday. Anyone want to start a guess the div game? I'm going for 16.1p. Any less and i will all doom and gloom myself!

Someone just sold 400,000 shares for £2m. I was looking to see what had stopped today's trickle up.

Hitting £4.65 today seems to have brought out some large buyers. Just seen a few £50-100K trades in the last 30 minutes and price is back over £470 as I type.

I know very little about short selling. When MW reduce their position from 2% to 1 %, are they buying EJ shares or selling them? In theory wouldn't they be buying them?

And the budget is on the 26th! On a different note, someone sold 33,500 shares this morning.

I had been assuming there would be a steady upwards movement until Nov 25th full results, but time is beginning to run out. It would be unusual to see much of a boost post results, and this year we have the complication of the budget the following day. Could be £4 or £6 by the end of the month!

They sell a few tickets each flight to staff and friends. You would like to think the staff get bumped first! You certainly don't hear many stories of moaning passengers getting bumped in the press /social media.
