Listen to our latest Investing Matters Podcast episode 'Uncovering opportunities with investment trusts' with The AIC's Richard Stone here.
I see that Val are presenting at the Shares Magazine event on 22nd Nov in Edinburgh, hope he is as upbeat as he was at the last one.
Richy, the general election is not until October 2019, there is a by election in Windsor Lakes on 20th Sept this year.
What was said at the Agm was that the matter would be signed off by end July and approved at the next cabinet meeting after that, as far as I am aware there has been no cabinet meeting since the end of July, I may be wrong but if my take is correct we could have news at any time.
Agree that the dealay is frustrating, hope it is just down to the holiday season.
The old saying “sell in May go away don’t come back till Ledger day” would certainly have worked this year.
The St Ledger is next Saturday!
Just watched a video on Proactive Investors about this company (sorry not good with links), they are doing a conversion of a Power Station at Uskmouth in Wales to run on pellets made from plastic/cardboard.
Just wondered if anyone had any views on it as it is a similar market to AEG.
I am not trying to knock Aeg, I. Am long and strong and hoping for great news this week.
Good luck.
Seems to be the norm now that shares fall on good results, look at SDX yesterday.
I am hoping for a good interview later today on Proactive and a bounce.
Long term looks a great buy at this level.
Good luck all.
Well I thought the article was quite reassuring, the locals are on our side and no doubt pushing the government.
It was said at the AGM that final approval from the cabinet would be in August, I thought that Richard’s comments were quite upbeat.
Remember that we have enough companies wanting to pay for Coalswitch for trials to keep one plant going for a year.
Great post Max but you have made a spelling mistake.
In America they are going to ban pre shredded cheese to make America GRATE again.
Just a few more thoughts on the Agm, hope I am right.
Peatswitch, young living are looking for more Plants from us, which we are selling at a premium price, many other companies interested, including the company in California who supply fertilised to Home Depot, probably the largest DIY/Garden Centre co in the States.
CoalSwitch - many power companies would like to do trials and it could take a year for one plant to make enough to satisfy demand just for trials, the CoalSwitch would be paid for, Rocky Mountain Power back on the phone after the Poland tests, they do not want to get left behind.
50 million tonnes of Salty Hog piling up in British Columbia needing something like CoalSwitch to sort it.
Forestry, Newfoundland looks nailed on, Powerwood looks good and the Metis in Alberta seem to have got keen again.
Just looks like things could snowball from here, all the pieces falling into place.
Potpot, yes sure there was something, also heard part of a coversatiom but do not want to speculate as it could be rubbish, think he did say that there was a lot going on in Poland and he would not be taking an arduous trip to Alberta with a lot of driving unless it was worthwhile.
Very impressed by the meeting, ducks in a row, lots of news to come but it will all take time.
Jim, I asked the question about RMP, looks like they were doing a number of trials with various options and some have taken longer than expected to supply, sounded as if they got a bit geed up by the Poland news amd were back on the phone last week, still looks good for the long term.
That was one of my big concerns, why there had been no news, but I am happy with the amswer.
Just blown away by the scale of how big this could be.
They have had numerous serious enquiries for large Coalswitch trials, I can’t remember the exact details but think that it was around a year production from one CoalswItch plant and they would pay for the Coalswitch.
Another example was Peatswitch, which I think could be huge in its own right, they have had lots of enquiries and looks like Young Living will take up to 8 plants at a great margin, another example is a Californium a company who supply fertiliser to Home Depot in the US, huge compant, they are very interested in Peatswitch.
There is a huge amount of opposition to dogging up peat bogs, so we have the alternative.
I went to the Agm today with a lot of doubt in my mind, I left totally reassured about my investment and full ofhope for the future.
Lotts of news to come soon, Newfoundland, Alberta, Young Living, Rocky Mountain, Poland and more.
It will take time but long term an unbelievable opportunity.
We should at least have an AGM Statement on Monday, if nothing else beforehand. That may give a few clues.
Hi Pascha, I will be at the AGM, look forward to meeting you, it should be interesting.
I have been to a few AGM’s and they tend to vary quite a bit, at some the directors can’t get rid of you quick enough and at others they really engage with shareholders. I remember one where about a dozen of us went to the pub with the directors after it and while they did notgive anything away we all knew that it was time to fill our boots.
I have never been to an AEG Agm does anyone know what previous ones have been like, would be interesting to know in advance, thanks.
Yes I am planing to go, I have a few questions and want to check out the confidence level.
Yes looking very good, just been to Oilcapital in London and would not Aeg for any of the seven companies.
I have held Iom since they were 46p, the price has dropped almost allways after the results and gradually recovered over the next few weeks. I could have made a fortune if I had shorted them just before the results and bought back in after results many times. For me the key result is - Cashflow from operations 40.8 million. I am sure that they willbe taken oover at some point, but I have thought that for years. Goodluck.
Worth looking at this website. Forestry waste to electrical power - fuel variability minimumisatiom, La Crete project. Power Wood Canada Corp. Project type - Implementatiom, Project Value $157,800,000 Project Status - Active, Location - La Crete, AB Funding Amount $10,000,000. Looks like government funding for a biomass fuelled power plant with the company we have an mou with. No date on the article
Are you sure this is the correct Powerwood, check out powerwood com which is a canadian company with turnover of $6 million plus, based in Canada, all a bit confusing.
Jhaylock, this was from conversations I had with Paul at the Ukinvestor show and a couple of months ago at a London investor show, Proactive. My take on it is that the LM results have exceeded expectations so I would not be at all surprised if they do more seismic than in the original plan and drill more wells in the next campaign, just my guess. Another point is that the Brent price is now over $76, this will help not only in Egypt but also in Morocco, the 10 year contract with the new Peugot factory is linked to the Brent price and at the time of the Ukinvestor show on 21st April was worth around $12.70 to Sdx.
The plan now is to start seismic in Morocco in June, then a twelve well campaign in Q1 next year with a rig which will be shipped in from the States and will operate much better than the current Rumanian rig. Lots to look forward to, I get the impression that LM has surprised big time on the upside.
