Yeah I saw that too. Reported this morning. £342k. Traded at 68.36.

Will we seek re-entry into the FTSE250 again. I'm not entirely sure what criteria Petrofac need to align with but with MC presently £357m I'd like to think an announcement will come soon enough if we get more re-ratings coming in.

a. Short covering is closing out a short position by buying back shares that were initially borrowed to sell short using buy to cover orders.
b. Short covering can result in either a profit (if the asset is repurchased lower than where it was sold) or for a loss (if it is higher).
c. Short covering may be forced if there is a short squeeze and sellers become subject to margin calls. Measures of short interest can help predict the chances of a squeeze.

They probably think that the results will further spook PIs and drive the SP lower. It's ballsy but TBH they've been in control for months now.

Dark_Knight...no not necessarily. It could be shorts buying back the shares they've borrowed, or someone building a position. If shorts are settling their bill then I'm happy. If it's someone building a position then why isn't the SP moving north. I honestly don't know.
