Wish this share would hold onto even a small gain for more that 5 minutes. So frustrating.
Not long till the next ex dividend I suppose. Only problem though, if there is no rise leading up to ex divi, then that'll be another 4p or so drop on the day.
Bit of a strange one isn't it? Wonder where they are buying that has a higher yield and more regular dividend ?
Bet there aren't many that would fit that description. Would have to be a 16% yield with monthly dividends.
Can anyone else confirm that DEC was actually up today or has my computer malfunctioned?
I thought the oil hedges were in the 50s which means oil would really have to collapse for Serica to benefit.
Archy it does tend to but only if gas prices are falling. The market tends to "forget" that nearly all of its production is hedged but then suddenly remembers that it is when gas prices rise.
Just the way the market is at the moment. See how easy it is to wipe off over a penny per share, yet take weeks to get it back again, only for it to be taken in a day again and again. The only way to stop it would be to open a spread bet and go short, it would shoot back up the minute you pressed the deal button.
or about 13.2% in anything else with 15% withholding tax taken off.
Anyone got any other shares with similar yields?
why we're blue today? Not used to this.
A day that doesn't end red. Might put some numbers on the lottery later.
Seeing as Henry hub is showing up 7.71% I would hope so too.
I wonder if the market will suddenly remember that DEC is hedged and so a rising gas price won't have much affect?
That's probably more to do with the price action. People not realising that DEC is hedged way over that for the next couple of years.
With regards to the 11k bopd hedging, I queried this with Mitch and he has said that it was existing hedging in place with Tailwind when oil prices were a lot lower. So he's saying that they haven't taken on any more hedges I assume.
Was this mentioned when the takeover was going on?
Not sure I could find the amount and date but assume it's going to be late May like last year?
Surprised are you Mitch in disguise or something?
How you are supposed to make any profit on selling oil at $58 a barrel in a 75% tax environment? Who on earth would have paid any amount of money for that, let alone nearly $20 a barrel.
NewKOTB what about all those billions of supposed tax losses from Tailwind? Thought that was the main reason that Serica bought TW for...... Do you mean we will be paying silly tax rates still?
Very tempted to have a punt on this. Been on my watchlist for a while.
According to ADVFN the NAV is around 34 pence. Does that sound about right ?
Dividend here now. Not long ago you were lucky to get that in a year in a savings account.
Surely just a little bit more patience required and we'll be fine.
Unless it really is being softened up for a cheap takeover ?
Is that blue I see or is it a mirage ??
As that'll stop the rise in its tracks instantly and cause a reversal. Good to actually see some blue though.
Got some at 99 p a few days ago and thought I'd done well lol.
At least I kept some back knowing that shares usually tank seconds after I press buy.
When to get another tranche though, that is the question. At an approx 15.5% gross yield at the mo it's all getting a bit silly imo.
