When oil and gas go up you're supposed to be buying, not pushing it down.

Oh well. Should we be wanting oil to drop then in order for i3e to go up? I don't get this share. It sells oil and gas yet when the price of those commodities rises, the share price falls. Also when the price of those commodities fall, it also falls. Trying to work out what has to happen for the share price to go up.

How low has it gone this time? I assume back to the 60s going by the share price here.

Was my thought when I saw the share price.

Just looked now though and it's saying nearly 10% up. Thought the gas price was supposed to affect DEC or does that only happen when it's going down?

Not sure if anyone has posted this yet but Apache are to cease all new drilling in the North Sea.

The UK government’s efforts to boost investment in the North Sea by scaling back the windfall tax on oil and gas producers have been dealt a blow as one of the basin’s leading operators blamed the levy as it halted drilling.

Ministers introduced a price floor on the windfall tax on Friday following months of lobbying from the sector, which argued it was deterring investment, and putting jobs and energy security at risk.

However, hours after the announcement Apache, operator of the Forties oilfield for the last 20 years, said it would halt all drilling in the North Sea, blaming the “challenging UK macro environment with its increasingly costly and burdensome tax and regulatory regime”.

The company confirmed that the move would lead to job losses in Aberdeen. 

Apache produces about 50,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, according to analysts Wood Mackenzie, making it the North Sea’s ninth largest operator.

Don't worry, next time oil takes a fall, I'm sure we'll go up to make up for it.

They should try and sell their stake in Serenity to be honest. North Sea assets are effectively worthless now.

Plus it's probably going to get worse when Labour get in. Can't believe how stupid politicians are when they could be getting billions in future tax revenue from oil and gas but now will probably end up getting nothing by killing off the North Sea completely.

Yep the market is effectively saying DEC has 4 to 5 years left at the current divi yield.

Bit strange that only a few days ago we were just about to touch a quid and yet here we are touching multi year lows.

What did someone find out in the last few days and why haven't shareholders been told if that's the case?

98p earlier in the week and now 85p. Way to go market. What does it know that we don't ?

All the gas has disappeared? The hedges won't be honoured?

Seriously tempted to buy more next week now, thought I was getting a bargain when I topped up under a quid recently.

Is that a 10% fall in just 2 days? Not bad going even for this crazy market.

Makes DEC a serious bargain at the mo though. Every cloud and all that.

Not long till the next ex dividend I suppose. Only problem though, if there is no rise leading up to ex divi, then that'll be another 4p or so drop on the day.

Bet there aren't many that would fit that description. Would have to be a 16% yield with monthly dividends.

I thought the oil hedges were in the 50s which means oil would really have to collapse for Serica to benefit.

Archy it does tend to but only if gas prices are falling. The market tends to "forget" that nearly all of its production is hedged but then suddenly remembers that it is when gas prices rise.

Just the way the market is at the moment. See how easy it is to wipe off over a penny per share, yet take weeks to get it back again, only for it to be taken in a day again and again. The only way to stop it would be to open a spread bet and go short, it would shoot back up the minute you pressed the deal button.

or about 13.2% in anything else with 15% withholding tax taken off.
Anyone got any other shares with similar yields?
