Not sure if other folk have seen this in the Guardian, JCB to IMPORT hydrogen made from renewables....
from Australia?!!!
That FOAK needs to get its skates on if its not going to miss the boat.
Do add more transportation metaphors if you want.

Oh Vela don't tweet. Or post anywhere. Or update the website news feed. Or respond to emails. Or do RNS.
That, would be make us investors less focused.
I've changed "any day now" to "week", then "month".
Im thinking the phrase "year" might get dropped in soon.
Deep Breath. GLA.
Surely JN is as passive as we are in this situation and is only able to watch as a potential deal is struck.
He doesnt have the Pharma-chops to be involved in any negotiations, and Vela was a small piece of the funding model so he is also waiting. Like us. Endlessly. Although the difference is, he's waiting whilst sitting on another mystery 2 mill to invest and could update us about the rest of Vela which is the other part of the ( sadly silent) puzzle.
Once again, GLA and patience IS a virtue.
Although wow, is this a tester.
I emailed them a while back in August and suggested just a little hint of communication would be good for current Pi's and for attracting new shareholders. "Easily achievable social media presence" i think i said. Heres the reply... not that progressive.
Have a grand weekend y'all, onwards and surely only upwards. Hold the line!
"Thank you for reaching out to Vela.
Following previous trials of reporting information to shareholders via social media and other platforms only to find this information being disseminated and twisted for personal advantage we took the view that the best way was the tried and tested RNS route.
Most if not all the information you seek is already provided by the investee companies on their websites and through PR channels.
We trust that helps in some small way
Regards
Vela Technologies PLC"
So im still scratching my head at the workings of the MM's. Very different from the more "open" trading of supply/demand in the FTSE. At what point, with 70mill+ buys going thru and the warrants diminshing, does it "go"? Or do they always have the power to keep a certain level of restraint until they see fit? Im not expecting 75p here, but a kick up after a clear RNS of good news is surely to be expected?
I emailed VELA to express some of these thoughts. just received an Out of Office replay from a "Low Wave Limited",
who i presume are the PR comany? Will relate back any info i get.
GLA!
Patience IS a virtue, though that was written in the 14th century i believe, just before the advent of 4G.
I think thats just it. Speculation can only go so far. Currently (well for a good few months) theres always hope something is "Going on in the Background". And i dont mean SGS. Thats just a piece of the puzzle. It must be a very big, busy background to not to afford ANY information or general updates. Aeristech announced a big collaboration last month, good business development with new U.S partner. Well on paper, we own some of that good news. It would have been proactive in my opinion to see at least a reference to that somewhere in the Vela setup, even a monthly "news" update on the website. Its the wall of silence that makes me feel uncomfortable. As i said, its not hard, JN could do it from his phone.
Not remotely annoyed, have FULL trust in JN after AAA, am very patient. Have to be!
But as I can dial into my other investments and get a wealth of info from the marketing/social media - be they performing well or not, its a bit ironic that a company that is positioning itself to be at the forefront of innovation / tech cant manage a constant twitter feed. Surely not hard to keep people informed of relevant links and articles that we, and more importantly prospective investors would be enticed by.
I mean i cant talk, i can barely navigate the twitter website let alone tweet. But then i dont want folk in to invest in me....!
HOLD THE LINE!
Upcoming RNS(s) aside though, do folk thing JN and the Social Media feed/ general marketing setup could be a bit more proactive? We as the LTH's know alot about the setup but I sometimes feel Vela is not geting enough / any column inches which means when news surfaces it wont help the SP a as much as it could...?
Has to be a mistake. Though no PR / proof reader would ever let that thru? So i fear it's not.
I've been in here for a very long time. And i TOTALLY believe in the tech and its huge benefits. And I get all the Buffettness "impatient to the patient"... But come on. Construction is construction FOAK or not. Surely some wheels have to turn quicker than this? COP26 is a missed opportunity now and a prototype is KEY for expansion. Frustrated Sad Face from me.
Its hopefully more progressive thinking from JN with luck. Sure, not a quick turnaround, but timed for an IPO AND a booming post pandemic job market (we hope), refreshingly Northern-centric and creating essential future folk who will be dishing out the one thing EVERYTHING from my boiler to my watch are always craving these days - code for software updates. It compliments the TECH in Vela perfectly. GLA.
Am i right in thinking, if the results are positive, SGS can take up the offer and sell their Vela stake after the two month window? Would that mean Vela would be severed from any further long term returns from successful commercialization deal? SGS may well want to take profit and simply move back into to their next accelerated trials with a big operating warchest, as they function as a charity first and foremost and not an investement vehicle.
On all the forums/threads im in there is allways talk of Market Managers tweaking things to suit themselves, not PI's. After Earlofaim mentioned them, i thought id ask. Im cureious as to how the wider system works. Thats all. In all your 5.5K posts you never asked a "silly" question? But hey, fret not. i'll get back under my amateur investor rock and let you pro's get back to sniping at each other. Cheers.
EarlofAim, With SO much presumed positive sentiment here, (not just with LTH's but seemingly elsewhere) how can MM's manage to keep a lid on it and not let it pop above the 9 - 0.1 even briefly?. This is the part my relative newbie investor head cant figure out. If folk think this is going places for whatever their reason - business or gut or chartism, how come it doesnt ascend from the first sign of (big) potential returns? GLA all, I have had a very modest holding for sometime and watching things unfurl is fascinating/exciting/terrifying all at once.
