The country has serious issues to grapple with a nationalist movement linked to Stepan Bandera in the west and a largely Russian speaking contingent persecuted since 2014 by the aforementioned.

Sovereign and democratic look a pipe dream in this country but for now peace and free elections of some kind would be a start however tenuous.

Ukraine have a chance to preserve what’s left and make peace. They blew the first chance in March 2022 in Istanbul listening to Biden and his dumb lackey Boris Johnson. That only brought them destruction after destruction.

Well I wasn’t expecting such a positive update post Mr Witkoffs visit (credit to him) and pleased to be completely wrong on that score. Truly hope this marks a turn in events and common sense restored (keep Europe and Starmer out in that case) these people have truly suffered an appalling conflict and deserve peace and help to restore some sanity back in the region.

India sells imported oil from Russia to the West all acknowledged via past and present us administrations

in order to not dramatically effect/spike oil prices.

Sanctioning Russia means sanctioning China, India, Brasil et all the US imports commodities from these countries

are they going to sanction themselves? If they respond they could serioulsy cripple the US/Western markets/consumer.

In regards to Trumps tariffs frankly I don’t think he has a strategy at all other than what has already failed for the last 3+ years?

The Ukraine is in trouble close to collapse, Trump has dithered and changed his story too much subsequently I don’t think Russia is taking all this terribly seriously?

Also the selling of US weapons to Europe with the state of their economies another poorly thought out strategy IMV.
