@Dowsie The CWU said as much
https://cwue5.org/2019/09/06/modern-day-slavery-at-gls/
Continuing to strike whilst agreeing to have ongoing talks with ACAS seems more about advertising the CWU to the general public than the highlighting the fact that Posties are unhappy with both their pay and terms and conditions.
What is ironic though is the fact the CWU and Posties are quite happy for GLS to continuing subsidising their income despite the fact the entry level workers at GLS have a much lower pay scale at entry level along with poorer working conditions.
Some would call that hypocritical, others would not be so kind.
Simon, like a lot of the current workforce is just not fit for purpose, the CWU are creating cartoon pictures of him and mocking him live on national TV, and he's either hiding away on his workspace app or behind a company RNS.
The guy is a pussy when all is said and done, if he is VESA's pocket, then he really should be going head to head with them in an environment where the employees will actually earn some respect for him.
For me, in football terms Simon has lost the dressing room in exactly the same way Rico did, the job seems to big for him, he's underestimated the union and VESA have gone from being £700 million plus up to £100 million down in a little over 12 months, primarily due his actions.
It will probably be released in a similar way to Rico's departure, but he has already removed himself from negotiation talks, and if a deal cannot be negotiated before November 17th, he really needs to go.
If a deal is done, the November RNS will likely not be the expected bloodbath and the March year end figures will probably not look that bad and comparison to other stocks in similar sectors that are reporting losses.
@Scamp.
It's good that it bounced off @1.87 today and buyers came into the market, because it looked like the price was capitulating today
Personally, I don't see this trading above 2.10 for any length of time until the dispute is settled or at worse the striking stops.
It's a shorters market right now, especially with retail stocks, the institutions have been long energy stocks and short retail since the end of 2021. It's also the hedge they're currently playing.
Actually hope this gets back into the 1.70's by the end of this month and then possibly tests the 1.50 range in November and then tests those levels again in December if the strike persists into December and the new year.
Nothing is changing here until the dispute is settled and the company moves back into profitability, the Market is also probably at least 3-6 months away from bottoming out as well.
The overhead supply that bought last week will now be selling into the drop today to lock in profits, plus the institutions will be see the stops and start taking them out.
This is one of those stocks that will now likely take 18-24 months to recover
Then add-in shorters are creating an artificial short-term market and increasing the free float available to force the price down further.
There is so much more to it than just things company related.
Then remember all the striking news hit the headlines in today's newpapers and so on.
GLA, Have a good weekened.
Macroeconomic data is what is what forcing the price down today, look at other stocks in similar sectors they're are all down by a similar %. The £ against the $ has also tanked 2c since the highs of yesterday, and that along with the Liz Truss announcement pretty much caused the rise here, prior to that the price was around 1.93 at 10 am yesterday morning.
Plus there is mass Q3 reporting occurring both in the UK and over in the USA and that Market Maker Alogs control the market.
Then remember this time last week that the price was 1.73 or thereabouts.
GLA, have a good weekend.
There you go assuming you know what I think, and that's exactly why you are employed in the capacity that you currently are and others are in theirs . You mocked Ricky McCaulay and the negotiation team behind Simon Thompson yesterday, but look at their career progression over a 20-30 year period and then look your own.
Seriously, after the way you and your keyboard warrior colleague @Madasaballoon used to relentlessly troll me when I first joined the board, I have ZERO respect for you as a person in any capacity, and that is the long and short of it all.
Your posting pattern and style now is just a repeat of what occurred in November 2018 and it's for exactly the same reason's.
