Imagine if you guys and CWU had any brains along with some common sense, you would have surely voted to strike on the 26th and the 30th and you could have booked yourselves a nice break over the bank holiday.

Truthfully, I only took you off " FILTER " because my screen had been filled with green for the last two days and there had been a flood off posts in recents days.

I assumed something drastic had occurred within the company, especially with all the rapid posting yesterday, only to realise the other resident clown was on the blob and desperately seeking attention.

Back to filter for and back to reality for me.

P.S The midde-aged man who works the checkout counter at my supermarket also thinks I am foolish.... recently.. I never had my clubcard ready for him to scan at his earliest and immediate convenience, so he told me I should know better......I then asked him how long he had been at his job..........He replied almost 10 years..............I replied that I can see why.

I would probably struggle with both the prep and delivering a full round for a day or two, but within a week I would have the job of a Postman down cold. I guess you can call it lucky that I spent my younger days beyond university, working two jobs six days a week and complementing that with evening class most evenings for many years to attain various professional accreditations and practicing licenses.

I guess you're drowning your sorrows tonight, huh, whereas yesterday it probably all looked and felt so different right.

P.S ISPY - I posted this in the ACP thread as well, just so it sinks in.

RMG should just implement a minimum wage rule for unskilled and entry level positions like Postman, in the future.

As minimum wage laws rise, so do their wages, if the union then has a problem they can take it up with the government.

Anyone who stays in an entry level position for an extended length of time, is either lazy or they're just working the system within the company and simply over-booking their hours.

What other incentive could there possibly be for sticking out an entry level job, year in year out.

Nice turnaround today with the share price.

The market obviously want's the lazy f@@@s to strike.

This was already priced-in, the drop yesterday was very telling especially with the benefit of hindsight.

Pre-dividend the low was 2.57 which in old money would be 2.44.

The longer you keep waiting for your discount Dynamo, the more you will hesitate when a real opportunity presents itself.

No offense Dynamo, if breathing wasn't an automatic subconscious behaviour , I'd really fear for you.

I'm surprised you can actually make it through the day.

All those employees that voted to strike whom also hold shares defy logic.

As the price goes down they will lose even more.

If he's not a LTD company then he should fire his accountant, find a new one, register for PAYE, pay himself a salary up to the tax and NI personal allowance threshold and then there would likely be ZERO tax to pay.

But hey ho what do I know.

Unless he was registered for PAYE and paying himself a salary.

Outside of that and his accountant playing with the numbers a Postman is far better off, irrespective of gross turnover.

Oli - If the he paid £580 in income tax, his net profit for the year was only £3052

A Postman, even one that is paid minimum wage would have a considerably higher disposable income than that, and probably in excess of 40 %.

Glad to be corrected, hopefully DK shows the Government similar statistics and charts in due course and maybe he will be able to sell it back to them at a premium for current shareholders.

Ironically, those same employees that were young lads just starting out when the company was subsidized are the exact same ones that are now booking 3 hours of over-time daily for the same job they were doing during normal working hours as part of their annual salary.

It also works both ways, no way can an ageing workforce can outperform a younger workforce in relation to either physical and/or unskilled manual labor.

I have said it previously, I would prefer if the company distributed zero funds in dividends for the foreseeable future and instead used 100 % of those funds to upgrade the internal and external infrastructure, but the Union would probably dispute that policy and instead demand further increased pay rises for an already overpaid workforce.

I have no issue with the union, it's doing the best job it can for its members and the fact UK employees are paid 40 % above their competitors means they have done and are doing their job very well.

Yet, as I said yesterday the modern day Postman is in the big off scheme of things at the same level as the current Uber Eats delivery guy and in the past 18 months I have not had a delivery from them by anyone resembling Captain Mainwaring, unfortunately my current Postman could be his twin.

Industrial Action will probably just seal the fate of the company, in that GLS will 100 % be split, and UKPIL will hopefully be offloaded back to the government at asset value and they can once again subsidize the Dad's Army element of Royal Mai.

It's a very similar outcome to what occurred previously during 2019, in that by the time the official news was released, it was already priced in and the market responded favorably once the it was in the public domain. The only difference being was that today it was done on the back of poor financial result, which is actually a huge positive for shareholders.

Back in 2019 it was almost as if the Market actually wanted to see them go on strike, and it's looking more and more like a rinse and repeat of the past.

Hopefully this time they rectify it once and for all otherwise everyone will be having the same discussion again in 2-3 years.
