This only goes to show once again that you have zero legal knowledge or experience.

Had they gone to trial then, whatever the outcome, the company would now be bogged in appeals. You can see what happens to other stocks during appeals. It's anyone's guess where the valuation would be today, especially following the Amgen case.

Not only that but they would certainly have no cash to throw at R&D, Director recruitment and sales.

If this were correct the shares would have no value. No-one is in denial. Loss of the STM is undeniably not the news anyone wanted but the company has cash and therefore the agency it needs to act appropriately in the circumstances.

Most small businesses live hand to mouth and have debts. Count your blessings Nanoco isn't one of them.

No! That would only be the right decision if the company was cash-starved. Nanoco has plenty of cash so the right thing for them to do now IMO is to throw a bunch of it at recruiting a top CEO with contacts.

Not really, two reasons why.

1. The expected income was small and already reflected in the share price

2. More doors will open. The always do. STM opened their door when Apple closed theirs. Next some of STM's customers (who are OEM's) will open theirs. That's what nearly always happens. Think about it, building firms go bust mid-project all the time but their sub-contractors always pick it up and get it done. This is similar in reverse. I expect there have already been tentative emails.

Reality?

Reality is that the settlement was fair and there was no other good option. Having found that the IP was infringed the BoD made the right choice to save the company but the commericialistion has since suffered an unexpected setback.

The unexpected setback is not so surprising in a company that was consumed by litigation for three years so that it wasn't in an optimal position to diversify its customer base.

That's the objective analysis. I now expect the company to re-assess its strategy to focus on direct to OEM sales and to publish an updated strategy document in the coming weeks.

Do any of you think all your tedious posts repeating the same uneducated, hyperbolic dribble over and again for years impresses anyone and makes you admired by others? I don't. I think you vexation is obvious. You only have to look at the vacuous, verbose and numerous replies to my every post to see that.

The only valid question for rational investors today is what is the company worth now compared to the share price and I think that, on any objective analysis, it's undervalued.

For an objective person who isn't invested you post an awful lot here and I'm not the one who spent three years pumping a >$billion dollar settlement Feeks. In fact you were told you were wrong before the fact but argued and argued that you knew better.

The truth, as I have previously repeated over and again, is that the settlement saved the business and was the only sensible option. There was never any guidance it would be more, only your constant delusions based on nothing but one-sided google research. Now the commercialisation has suffered at setback. That's bad but these things happen all the time. It doesn't mean anyone lied to anyone. Everyone knows investing in stocks is risky and setbacks happen in buiness. There really isn't any need to troll the directors and other shareholders about it unless you're bearing a subjective grudge.

The price of 9p with 2m shares in issue represents about the same share of the company as 6p when there were 3m shares. The lowest it's ever been was 6.5p the day after Apple withdrew but then it had no cash and it owed Apple enough to send it into receivership.

Now it has validated patents ongoing development contracts including one with a major corporate and enough cash for several years so I think it's massively oversold. Possibly this is because of the unremitting hateful and unjustified personal insinuations made here and on ADVFN.

Why don't you all pipe down for the weekend and wait and see what Nanoco say in the next few weeks? That way you won't get yourselves all stressed out and in a massive tizz with all your silly conjecture and stories again.

With all that money in the bank Nanoco should attract a good CEO with industry contacts who can sort things so it may all start to look very different by Christmas.

here's how i see it. during the three year run up to the trial a number of posters got carried away with ridiculous valuations on the damages and, probably being narcissistic, have never been able to understand they shouldn't have. since the settlement they haven't been able to accept that they were wrong. (in fact, narcissist can't even conceive of the concept of being wrong.) since the reality doesn't reconcile with their convictions they invented a story that they were lied to by tenner and this disgusts them. now anything that they can use to justify this story further is immediately seized upon to support their narrative and reconcile their inner tensions. and they hate anyone who sees positivity in what nanoco have achieved perceiving them to be their enemies.

i suggest that the truth is much simpler. the settlement was fair, it saved the business, which remains cash rich but life is tough, **** happens and even the best directors don't always succeed when attempting to launch new products into difficult markets.

Look on X (Twitter). There, Nanoco don't seem to be as freaked out by the news as you lot.

It seems clear that STM could not have had many customers in mind after all, perhaps it was just one. We've no idea how close they came to success or what they have in mind next. Trying to think we do know is what gets everyone wound up in unrealistic expectations, such as over record legal settlements or Apple Vision Pro, and now overthinking things is most likely depressing you more than necessary just the same.

I'm going to wait and see what they have to say in October and I'm certainly not going to be influenced by anyone here.

Who knows Nanonano? It happened after Apple. This stock has swung up and down three times since 2017. Need to step back and get some perspective when they next talk to the market but I don't think the majority of comments here are justified given the cash position and Cavendish agree.

Business abhors a vacuum. You should never discount the probability that when one door closes another one opens. That's what happened to Nanoco after Apple pulled out. Now they'll try harder and other customers will take a closer look.

There's plenty of cash and no debt so the company is not under commercial pressure or in a hurry. The share price is safe where it is for now with little prospect of more bad news.

We have to be more patient but the team in Runcorn will all be disappointed too and with new blood in management they can redouble their efforts and turn it around.

If it was easy it would have been done before.

If he'd been sacked he'd be out of the door with a box containing the contents of his desk. He was offered another job and the timing was right for everyone except the chair who's had to defer his retirement.

I don't buy any of the cynicism. They did their best to keep us informed and can't make stock market announcements about vague suspicions. Nothing is ever as certain and under control as we want and if it was there would be no way to profit. Truth is that business is chaotic. That is the risk we take if you can't accept the chaos you can buy Premium Bonds instead

Given his background I think Tenner was there to get them through the litigation and it was always the case that, if successful, he would leave afterwards so that an industry insider could step in to help connect them with new customers. We're seeing this play out with the quality of the new NEDs and hopefully it will be confirmed with the announcement of the new CEO. We will have to wait and see and, again I'm not saying either way.

FWIW my experience is that even professional sales people greatly over estimate how many rock solid prospects they have. It's happened in almost every business I've known. It's not that they're lying, it's just that prospects always give positive signals until they don't so when things fall through it often comes out of the blue. I've always reckoned you need three solid prospects of the type you're certain will order for every sale you need but the problem is that if more come good you might not be able to cope. It's really difficult.

I'm not the one who pumped the prospect of a massive settlement and I'm not offering any advice Feeks. As I recall that was what you did before you jumped straight into another stock which went bust, which can't happen to Nanoco for years at the worst.

It's a good day for bears but people will remember what they said before.

All I have ever claimed is that everything will be alright if Nanoco execute. I never told anyone to buy shares, only to sell them if they didn't like them.

Management have tried, they didn't make guarantees and people on forums always amplify what's happening and cast aspersions.

There's plenty of cash in the bank so the company is in a much better position than it was after Apple pulled out. I bought shares at under 7p then and don't regret it. Things might go in another similar cycle over the next few years. You should think about that properly instead of leaping to condemn people.
