I have held GGP since 2009 in rising volumes. I didn't see Hyrogens request. And my average is a ha'penny. Gloat! It amazes me how many new posters have held GGP for 6 months and consider themselves experts.
2.330M for me and family. Tx
When it comes to takeover values and strategies we are forgetting GH is already holding 3 other cards in his hand. Namely Ernest Giles, Warrentina and Firetower which are all gold discoveries. So what are they, Aces , Kings, Queens or Jacks? As he has the Newmont survey data, I would make Ernest Giles the Queen of Spades. I would love to sit behind GH in a casino and watch him play poker. I am sure it would be an education. GH has made all the difference to this company ... and my retirement.
All I know is - I would like to buy Gervaise and Callum a couple of beers. Maybe a few more than that. G'day mate !!
I have been in Tower since the Rift Valley days so am presently underwater, despite recent accumulation. As a retired oilfield QHSE manager I always pay attention to body language and tone of voice. In the Rift Valley Tower were unaware of the complications, in Namibia they got taken for a ride (IMO). In his recent presentation Jeremy Asher demonstrated a proper grasp of exploration jargon : and when he started quoting monetary figures his eyes were almost rolling back in delight. He clearly believes Tower can make a go of the Cameroons once they get the last buy-in; and he has put his money where his mouth is. I wish grist to his mill.
Look up the mining cycle ; mineral deposit value; on the web. Quite a few mining glossaries online as well.

Newcrest must have costed a number of options, including newplant and moving the Telfer plant to Havieron. Oh to look over the shoulder of the project engineers. How much of the Telfer plant needs to be replaced anyway. Does Scallywag come into it? This is better (more entertaining)than reading a good book!
Look at the bookshelf behind MM during the interview, presumably his room somewhere. It was an untidy jumble. One book was on fitness I think. Try looking up Chaos Theory, its a valid management method and some leaders use it very effectively. I'm still accumulating.
You could hear a pin drop.
Taken private by David Ross, maybe more than 10 years ago.
You guys don't have a sense of humour. Moi ? same same !!
Hmmm. Can't help wondering what Ernest Giles is worth now ? Nice to have on ones back pocket.
I see GGP racing to discover more deposits to make a takeover too expensive for a predator, copper and cobalt would be nice to have; Newcrest racing to discover more gold on Havieron to shore up Telfer, taking over GGP before it gets too expensive and as a defence against Rio. Difficult to defend against Rio I would think. This is like one of those cartoons where little fish is gobbled by bigger fish which is in turn gobbled by giant fish. I have 2m GGP shares at 0.0059P. I am sitting back to enjoy an interesting game of cards with so many permutations. Would be very upsetting if we are not big winners. Hmmm maybe aim for 9-15P a share, dependant upon more deposits. If we get another Havieron but with 2% copper I shall be feeling too giddy to get to the pub. Beats Netflix!
Maldini, thank you for your positive comments on holding Sound shares. I have sold a few but kept the rest. So I have a similar view to yours , but without the sagacity. My only negative comment is that your posts title could be changed to " the boy stood on the burning deck, whence all but he had fled."
I have been flying over North West Africa and looking down over it since I was two (1952) and worked in Algeria on the ground. Its an immense area with a range of striking geologies . At least we can credit the Sound team with finding 2-3 needles in the haystack.
Still some hope yet.
Polish your glasses mate. could be 1.2 . .... EEK !
Looking forward to 2.1
JP is an accountant, not a geologist or reservoir engineer. He does not interpret survey data. Neither did Sound carry out the seismic survey, seem to remember it was a world class company ...erh hum! For me there is one outstanding question , why haven't we drilled the pre salt? I suspect our ire should be directed at our partners not JP. If there is a bonanza waiting, we are going to get a much smaller part of it.
April 2017 the start? Come on Stout! Let’s hope we don,t get taken over cheaply.
petroleumeng, please stop lowering the tone of the board by talking sense.
what JP should have done on those desert jamboreees was have all the share holders in fireproof coveralls, given then a 5lb hammer each and make them rig up and test 200 feet of steel hose. Under a Saharan sun.
it all takes time!
In trying to understand Swedish governments, never assume they are stupid because they aren't like us. ( mind you our own government is a puzzle to anybody) They have always been good soldiers and they value their independence.
For an insight into the Swedish intellect and government volte face, try "How Sweden cracked the Nazi Code - World War II Documentary" on u tube. With sub titles thank goodness. You will also be able to pick up an excellent Swedish accent.
The point is that 1 clever Swede with paper and pencil cracked Enigma before either the Poles, British or French, who all helped each other.
Have to admit that for sometime now, I have regarded Beowulf as a graphite investment.
Enjoy the documentary, probably best viewed late in the evening with an open sandwich and some schnapps.
Crude, were you really allowed to clamber all over a drill rig. Don't thinks so - I seem to remember that some working areas were out of bounds. But yes you saw how interesting a drilling operation can be. Me? I have been from the bottom of Brae a A's legs to the crown-block of both derricks. Wish I was still fit enough to do it!
As you are attending the Event, please do me and others a favour and ask why they haven't yet drilled into the paleozoic formations. I cannot think of a good reason why they haven't.
Enjoy the day and thank you for your posts.
