The MMs sit in the middle and are presumably offloading shares from hedge funds onto retail investors hence "buys greater than sells". BY definition every transaction has a buyer and/or a seller so be wary of the published data. I picked this point up back in 2001 and wrote to the LSE asking for the actual data .. but it's a closely guarded secret - not too surprisingly ... sites like LSE gives estimates so be warned.

... because NAV is pie in the sky unless interest rates fall I suspect. When forward contracts are renegotiated the markets are pricing in a dividend cut.

Many "people" will end up as consumers only ... effectively paid to buy. The challenge for the wider population is to find work that is difficult to automate or to stay ahead of AI with education - that is becomming inceasingly difficult.

I noted in seminars to U/Gs being in Neural Computations myself almost 30 years ago ... my goodness time flies ... that some of the highest paid professions ... medical doctors .... Lawyers ... despite being highly paid were among the easiest of professions to automate - as co-pilot and chatgpt demonstrate now ... I'm fighting a legal battle armed with chatgpt .... one has to be very careful how its used and cross check frequently ... but it does an excellent job.

In fact I came across a paper I wrote 25 years ago - never got it published - that showed that hidden unit nonlinearities in neural networks simply introduced higher order terms into the transfer function of multi-layered networks .... Geoff Hinton (the father of AI? No chance) was a close collaborator of the guy the co-authered the paper with me ... not surprisingly Hinton abandoned the nonliear approach shortly afterwards and went on to deep layered networks by 2010 .... that outperformed most developed systems at the time ... but simply showed the state of the art was poor in terms of knowledge at the time.

The problem with current AI ... and again this was predictable back in the mid 1990s ... is that a system built on either supervised or unsupervised learning has no guarantee it will do the job intended nor give clues how the system functions ... so there will be degree programs in understanding how Neural Nets function no doubt (if they don't exist already) .... as a supplement to brain studies.

For people? Who knows ... "no knowledge no use" is a phrase I've used for some time ..... and this has been on the cards for 40 years and more.

People forget back in 2014 that an Indy Scotland required a $110 price of oil .... from which Iran coming on-line in 2015 leading to a collapse in oil prices meant that UK oil production became uncompetitive .... coal is a possibility for UK but oil I doubt will be able to compete with foreign imports whilst fracking in people's back yard not going to be very popular.

Dual use for solar is the way to go ... solar on rooftops ... so I do agree that taking up farmland with solar inefficient .. but that was Tory Policy late 2010-2020 to make farmers increase revenues .. the alternative being mroe expensive UK food ... bring in Brexit and pledges for cheaper food imports by Farage and Co ... and one can see the plain untruths told by Reform to gather votes.

Reform may get in for one term ... but will have a fight to unwind renewables, whilst pushing for increased oil/gad production seems a fantasy.

Hurricane Energy springs to mind as an illustration of risks in the UK oil/gas space .... a loss for investors and if government gets involved a loss for the taxpayer ... Reform Party fantasy economics ...

... where people forget that Reform want to increase NI contribution for employers for foreign workers to 20% .... very popular but not good economics.

Second indication of shorters are doom mongers on financial threads at or near to time when they look to close out asking leading questions. 🙄

Small rise in the morning followed by selling towards late afternoon is classic shorter play. Wait for the early morning dip as an indication of reversal in my experience.

I sold out at 63p last lot … 38p target IMO. £75K/MWH/year is around £8.5/MWH/hour… still a tad over 10% less than last reported in results … and the CEO was all fingers crossed for £15/MWH/hour if I recollect correctly.

USA will no doubt boost numbers up … but I don’t see an investment case or even a gamble so I’m neutral… I don’t short.

NESF results showed the broad sector decline in NAV owing to forward power prices but had 15% increase in power costs from Solar this year that hardly shifted NAV upwards .... from which I conclude that subsidies are critical to profits.

2023, 2024, and now 2025 the sector has been hit this time of year.

Time is running out and if CAML buy more assets now they are buying at a high …. Not great timing … I assume this has something to do with the divi cut. Rational from the point of view of the business.

Deutche seem to be pretty good at hitting targets ... bear in mind they will be using HFTs to damage the share price .... let it fall to 290.

Chance of getting back to £15 per MW/hr going forwards? Slim in my view.

Since Deutche bank will most likely be feeding the Market Makers with borrowed stock ... hence shorting more buys versus sell registered from the retail investors point of view .. simply means ... that retail investors are buying into a falling market. Every trade by definition has a buyer and a seller so it's necessary to look deeper into trades than simply those registered on these sites as so called buy versus sell.

GCP has been down at these levels for almost a couple of years ..... I caught the brunt of the downside this time last year ... but have done well post March this year making up for that downside ... having bailed now twice at 79p+ and back in much lower and moving into bonds last month ... so I'm selling bonds and looking to buy back. The UK is irrational ..... governments are putting media focus on small boats while the country burns ... we saw the same over Brexit and Freedom of Movement.

Migration is a problem granted, but it's madness to make 60 odd million people poorer for the sake of 30,000 or so arriving each year across the channel.
