I have my own trading style that includes not listening to folk making pointless comments nor folk recommending associated stocks like SAVE back down to 30p from 38p.

These types of funds often trade 10-20% below NAV ….

Grabbed some more at 29p today … moved up on low volumes … flurry of trades last friday fingers crossed I’m not being caught in a bull trap.

Sanctions don't work .... and never have done so unless combined with internal political unrest that can take years to sort out.

I'm fully back into HFEL that raised its dividend again, and have taken a strong position now in SEDY for income .... many of the Emerging Market Funds had assets in Russia that have been written down to zero and will remain so whilst the Ukraine war prevails, but at some point there will be a peace treaty, Putin will get his just deserts, and some semblance of normality will resume with Russia - preferably sooner rather than later obviously with an uplift as those assets that have not been nationalized by Russia come back on line.

Wot happens to oil at that point seems obvious $80 and below in my view .... so I'm sticking with the current Seplat position with a more than comfortable hold and happy if the share goes either way from here.

Not really bold ... Seplat's profits are independent of natural gas right now I believe.... and it has been on a strong run since 92.5 last week was it, against the market.

In any case I took 106.42 this morning bought back ay 101 and 101.24 ....

... summer volatility, inflation fears, light trading ... had Seplat not gone my way today I had my eye on other stuff that I would have jumped into.

Call it a gut trade.

Far from pretty out there … car insurers are taking a hit because of inflation on repair costs …I’ve cleared a bunch of Seplat looking for a drop.

We will see.

Someone is selling more shares than bought to get the price even lower.

The sector is being hammered .... that also correlates with the weaker £ ..... consolodation is rife .... as Brewin Dolphin got taken out on the cheap ....

.... asset management firms are under pressure under fears that investors will be pulling money out aling with lower profits owing to market sell offs ...

.. but inflation means people will need to save more for retirement, so the position will turn itself around in better times.

That's my view, whilst ABDN also took over Interative Investor ..... so I'm hetting my small II fees paid off by dividends ...

.. so looks good for the future to me IMO.

I think you make excellent points .. but there is also good deal of poker play and bluff with markets .... where value can also take years to realize.

SLP for example I traded between 6-9p between 2014-2016 ... had another go 9p-14p a year or so later .. made a tidy sum over that period ....

... but a tiny amount given that the share price hit 100p+ a year ago.

Equally, I was £2K down on Seplat after 2015-2017 oil carnage with Iran coming on line .... came out of the sector with a small profit at the time on the back of Soco with the last sells in the mid 90s ... Soco now Pharos trades at 21p.

One places bets and takes the risk .. with Seplat there is an excellent dividend that is attractive for hard times ... and I like that.

I don't like being over exposed in a single stock .... whilst I was in heavy at 93p ..... sliced a bunch at 96p, given the malaise elswhere, and 99-103.5p today.

I'm now slightly in profit since selling out at 125p .... back in April/Early May with a comfortable hold position.

Happy to buy back down to 93 and lower, happy to sell more 110p+.

I do have a target hold in Sepl, so if I clear out to zero, I'm looking for a price drop to get back in ....

Yup nice when this shares bounces ... took some profits 102.5-103.5 today ... at reset breakeven price.
