Quite a bit of good news coming in supported by the people who know what they are talking about rather than from individuals spouting ill thought out uneducated propaganda, could this be the beginning of the turning of the tide?
Patience is still the watchword as reality begins to kick in, if Boris gets in and Sajid is still secretary of state who do you think they will be listening to a smattering of activists and tree huggers or the likes of Sir Jim Ratcliffe?
Ref: Re Ooer!, depends what you call 'huge' ? As for tree huggers I drive around the country a lot often crossing into Wales, of the millions of people I've encountered on my travels I can honestly say I've never seen a single tree hugger, anybody else spotted one of this rare breed recently?

IGas (IGAS) and Egdon Resources (EDR) announced the Spring Roads-1 shale exploration well results, which confirm that a significant hydrocarbon resource is present in the Gainsborough Trough. IGAS also announced an Ellesmere Port appeal update. This has now been called in by the Secretary of State to determine himself since proposals for exploring and developing shale gas "amount to proposals for development of major importance having more than local significance." Good news for IGAS.
Foresight, did you not see the bit that said 'The key characteristics of the Bowland Shale in SR-01 compare favourably to commercial shale operations observed in North America such as the Permian and the Marcellus. The core results indicate a mature, organic rich source rock with good porosity confirming favourable gas resource density. In particular, the low clay content is encouraging and an indication that hydraulic fracturing of the rock should be effective'?
What percentage would you consider acceptable?
PM's Questions today at 12.48 the Prime Minister was asked if she welcomed the recent input of investment into CCS and if she would confirm the importance of natural gas in the effort to achieve zero 'net' carbon emissions by 2050.
This she duly did.
Blah, Blah, Blah, nothing new there then just the usual boring re-run.
Current news £10,000 worth of buys this morning against £343 sells.
As Brian Clough said to Don Revie in a TV interview in 1974 just before Revie became England manager and just after Clough had been sacked by Leeds United (Revie's former club) 'Let's see where we both are 5 years from now'.
We all know how that ended!
Not a very nice man, are you for real?
Have I ever called anyone 'Piggy'?
Have I consistently over the last god knows how many years ****ged off this company in an effort to discredit it and hence have an adverse effect on the fortunes of its investors?
Have I consistently latched onto the slightest piece of negative information and immediately jumped in with an ill thought out knee-jerk reaction in order to undermine the company and its investors?
Am I on a crusade to kill this company off and hence wipe out hard earned cash for it's investors?
My position has always been balanced, I could have cashed in last year with a significant profit but by thinking long term and considering the various routes this could take I could see the possibility of a better return at some point in the future and I am prepared to wait hence my stance has always been 'Hold'.
Like many others in this forum I have always believed that the 'National' interests of the country will eventually override the activists and the truth that the capability of renewables to supply 100% of our energy requirement is light years away.
4 days ago it was announced the government has handed out 26m to 9 companies to advance the development of carbon capture in order to meet the 2050 (30 years away) promise of 'net' zero carbon emissions. Does that sound like the end of shale gas? (I seem to remember you denigrating carbon capture as being infeasible)
https://www.gov.uk/government/news/uks-largest-carbon-capture-project-to-prevent-equivalent-of-22000-cars-emissions-from-polluting-the-atmosphere-from-2021
Furthermore, the Secretary of State last Friday called in the Ellesmere Port appeal, why would he do that? Again does that sound like the end of Shale gas? You went banging on about Andy Burnham and the 'northern' mayors opposition to shale well lets just wait and see where they are when Sajid Javid (we all know where he stands on this) and Boris have finished.

As you can see I try to support my posts with rational arguments and evidence.
All you and Meta ever do is whinge, whinge, whinge about the past, have you not noticed that we have moved on since then and the whole financial and political landscape has changed?
Do you think you are the only ones to have lost money? do you think I have never lost money? We all know this is a risky business but sometimes you just have to man up and swallow the loses not go whinging and whining for the rest of your lives.
What really confuses me is why if you have no shares in this company and are seriously waiting for the share price to drop to your stated buy in price would you waste so much valuable time posting in this forum?
Anyone who admits their shares are worth 3% of what they paid for them shouldn't be calling other people a Wally, lol.
Rizo, Ronaldo, Kennyo or whatever else he likes to call himself has absolutely no credibility on any share platform, he is detested everywhere as his only objective appears to be pissing people off where he fails spectacularly only succeeding in making himself look stupid. Most of his comments are irrelevant (what has Poland go to do with Igas FFS). He refuses to acknowledge an positive news and is therefore unbalanced and should not be trusted.
Patience is the watchword. All IMHO, GLA
Extract from todays RNS, key points.
The independent Committee on Climate Change recently reported that by 2050 we will still require some 70% of the gas we currently consume but unless we develop our domestic resources, we will need to import 86% of that gas from overseas.
These results demonstrate that within the East Midlands we potentially have the resources to produce gas, creating jobs and tax revenues whilst reducing our greenhouse gas emissions."
Would any incoming Government of whatever persuasion be so stupid as to ignore this asset?
Rizo the rat, Ronald the raven, Kenstaff, Meta4, whatever next?
And he claims he doesn't have any of these shares. What sort of an idiot would spend so much time here under so many easily identified nom de plume's without any shares? Some serious mental issues going on here!
Might I suggest Wally the wan***.
Any other suggestions guys?
What did I tell you, he's back regurgitating the old chestnuts the BOD, Lybster and historical data from years ago. There can now be no doubt that Ronaldtheraven and Rizo are indeed one and the same This guy is so naïve it's laughable.
With respect to the current situation anyone with an ounce of intelligence will know that it is absolutely nothing to do with any of his futile arguments. He says dyor in an attempt to convince us he is a smart cookie. Clearly he hasn't done any research or checked across the sector for the last year, UKOG, Angus, Egdon, et al because if he had he would know that since September 2018 the whole sector has been in decline so clearly the BOD and Lybster have absolutely nothing to do with it. He's clueless. Patience and long term commitment is what is required here. It aint over till the fat lady sings and the political situation is about to undergo some interesting changes in the next few months . All IMHO, GLA (except 1)
Just another observation on Ronald The Rizo's comments about Scottish electricity supplies where he quotes various percentages without really understanding the true significance of what he is saying. He states and I quote 'Scottish renewable generation makes up approximately 25% of total UK renewable generation'. Therefore since total UK renewables is 29.04% Scotland actually provides 7.26% of that. Doesn't sound quite so impressive when put correctly does it?
Clearly coal will eventually be phased out, nuclear is said to be 'clean' with respect to emissions (which incidentally is where EDF gets 71.21% of its energy from so they are not quite as renewable 'friendly' as they like to make out) but what do you safely do with the waste?
Having watched the excellent TV series on the Chernobyl disaster and also considering the Fukushima disaster one might reasonably ask 'what would you rather have in your back garden a fracking site or a nuclear power station'?
Sooner or later common sense will kick in and it will become clear that natural low carbon gas and oil with emissions regulated by carbon capture plus a smattering of traditional renewables will be the SAFEST combination that would be capable of supplying future energy needs. All IMHO.
Yeah Right! If anyone needed evidence of what a joker this guy is then there you have it. (screen shot lmao, you're way too vain for that Rizo)
Focusing his arguments on electricity alone shows how unreliable, misguided and ill-informed his judgement is as he clearly doesn't understand that his stupid argument is based on OUTPUT and not on SOURCE, which is what we are interested in here, hence his advice should be chucked straight in the bin.
Every year energy companies have to publish details of their fuel sources and on the EDF website they also include the UK average fuel mix for comparison.
The UK average fuel mix is as follows. Coal 7.64%, Gas 41.24%, Nuclear 20.01%, Renewables 29.04%.
Clearly there is still a big future for gas. Also, it's worth noting that on the EDF website it states that the contribution to carbon emissions from renewables is zero which is absolutely not true because, speaking as someone who has worked in the industry, I can tell you that the amount of energy required to produce just one wind turbine, (base, tower, blades, generator) and installing it (towing the base and constituent parts out to sea and erecting it) (ships don't run on electricity nor do HGV's and site ancillary equipment) is absolutely huge and most certainly does not come from renewables alone.
All the major energy suppliers are currently going through a marketing phase where they are trying to deceive the general public into believing they are pro-renewable but in the long term demand will define where they source the supply from and renewables alone will NEVER happen with the current technology.
Once carbon capture is developed to a point where it is efficient and commercially viable (hopefully soon) it will quickly eat into the renewables market and make gas even more attractive than it already is. All IMHO, GLA
So, Ronald or Rizo, or whatever else you might call yourself, which by the way is a bit pointless because we've all got your picture from your twitter account before you deleted it so we know who you really are. Please could you explain how long it is going to take all the energy companies to get from 2.2% of our total energy requirement currently supplied by wind and 0.5% provided by solar to 100% being provided by both? Could you also please explain where all the wind turbines and solar panels are going to be located and what we are going to do when the wind don't blow and the sun don't shine? Could you also please predict how renewables alone are going to keep up with the relentless annual increase in demand for energy? Sooner or later Brexit, which is holding everything back and having far more influence on SP's than activists, will be over and politicians will turn their attention back to the issues of the day. At this point it will become clear that carbon capture development has a massive advantage over wind and solar. Anyone who believes that the energy companies will EVER be capable of supplying 100% of the demand from renewables is living in cloud cuckoo land. If your comments are aimed at pissing us off then you are failing spectacularly because all you are doing is making yourself look ill-informed and stupid! You stated and I quote 'even the Energy providers are going 100% renewable' could you please tell us one energy provider that is supplying 100% of its energy from renewables? Could you also research your statement and give us the relative percentages of renewables provided by the major energy suppliers? Let's see how clever you really are! Looking forward to seeing your data.
The master of delusion and non-news, next he will be telling us that someone farted in Rochdale and caused an earthquake in Baghdad while at the same time predicting the end of the world and expecting us to take it seriously, FFS!
On 3rd December 2018 the new commissioner for shale gas at the time Natascha Engel wrote this article in the link below.
https://www.politicshome.com/news/uk/energy/house/house-magazine/100231/natascha-engel-energy-security-and-our-climate-are
She is clearly level headed and not prone to submitting to uneducated propaganda.
With respect to the recent surge in activists pushing for renewables and their influence on the SP perhaps they should read this article particularly the part explaining that in the previous year only 2.2% of our total energy consumption came from wind and 0.5% from solar. (hardly a threat) A sobering thought when arguing that fracking and shale gas exploration was about to become extinct wouldn't you think?
The new Tory leader whoever they are is likely to be pro-fracking and when we have the next general election either the Brexit Party or the Tories or an alliance of the two will without doubt be pro-fracking.
With an ever growing population (700,000 have recently applied to come to the UK never mind natural growth of the native population) and the associated increase in demand for energy it is hard to see how renewables are ever going to cope. On the other hand, improved carbon capture techniques and shale gas's 'green' properties will become increasingly more attractive once the penny begins to drop. And all the time this is going on as consumers large parts of our population will be supporting 'dirty' energy by buying cheap Chinese goods produced from energy derived from coal powered power stations enabling the Chinese to undermine our manufacturing bases such as steel. How stupid is that?
Now is a difficult period politically and investment is being hampered but sooner or later this period will inevitably be over, hopefully soon.
On another topic would anyone like to suggest odds on how long before Ronaldtheraven aka Rizo (as if we didn't know) starts regurgitating 5 year old stories and slagging off the BOD? My advice to the BOD and some ex BOD who he has specifically slagged off by name in the past (now we know who he really is) would be to have a quick trawl through his past comments as Rizo and see if they have grounds for suing the sh*t out of him.
Current world annual population INCREASE is 84 million. That is 84 million extra every year and all growing up to make more and more demands on energy supply. Renewables can't supply demand now and have absolutely no chance of EVER being capable of supplying 100% of demand. Clearly renewable technology will improve but so will the associated infrastructure demands on the aesthetics associated with it, do we really want our countryside infested with turbines and solar panels? Far more sensible is to develop carbon capture technology to a point where we can have a pragmatic mix of low carbon providers and there is also the possibility that in the future carbon capture could conceivably become the preferred option of low carbon energy supply since its impact on the aesthetics of the landscape will be much less than traditional renewables. All IMHO, gla.
Brexit is killing everything at the moment, once it is over and god knows when that will be things will start to move. If the Brexit Party continues its current influence or even gets MP's into the House of Commons at some point in the future then their influence will support sound business decisions.
Following up on Sparky's post see link below where DRAX are promising 'Carbon Negative Power' by 2025. This power to come from both coal and gas. If they really can do this then the SP of fossil fuels will soar. If anyone doubts that Carbon Capture will be developed to a point where it is commercially viable then they are in the wrong business. In any development programme patience is a virtue so we must wait to see how both Carbon Capture and the Political landscape change over the next couple of years.

On another note does ronaldtheraven seriously believe we are so stupid we don't recognise who he is from his comment? He has been very quiet since he was identified some time ago at which point he removed his photo from his twitter account and edited his profile to remove his ramping boasts. A bit like closing the stable door after the horse has bolted. Clearly not the brightest tool in the box so it would be wise to ignore him!
Anyone as old as I am will remember all these things.

Perhaps the 'activists' out there will be willing to revert back to these practices?
7 companies to watch in Carbon Capture and storage.
https://www.greenbiz.com/article/companies-watch-carbon-capture-and-storage
Aunty, no one is denying that there is a problem. All we are saying is that renewables don't have a cat in hells chance of meeting the constantly growing demand for energy. You can jump up and down and protest as much as you like you are never going to change that fact. Surely you are not so blind that you can't see that the remedy to the solution is to develop a series of options while at the same time maintaining the capability to supply the energy needs of the world. You do realise that the world would grind to a halt in 5 minutes if it had to survive on renewables alone? Until such time as renewables are capable of supplying 100% of the demand, which could be never, then you are always going to need something else. Furthermore, do you seriously think that the major oil and gas producing countries around the world are just going to lie down and allow renewables to put them out of business because if you do then you must be even more naïve than you already appear. Don't be surprised if the major oil producing countries and companies around the world mount a consolidated effort to fund, develop and promote carbon capture technology in order to remain competitive. My guess is that this is already happening.
Just out of curiosity what is your qualification in physics (please don't say a degree plus PGCE because that is pretty much school leaver level) and what level of physics do you teach?
