Write up in the Times today about an invested Singapore Hedge fund who is warning that Greggs could be taking out by PE if they don’t sort their house out. They are advocating slashing 20 Million of costs and that the management is timid. Another positive nod to the SP. I didn’t realise that Silchester took an 8% stake in Morrisons prior to the PE takeover???

Hence the rise on Thursday, it looked like a shorter buying back. The next six weeks are going to be interesting, make no mistake, Silchesters only go long so definitely a nod to the SP.

Shorts up to 9.4%, leading the pack. Based on a 30 days MA you are looking at least 25 days to cover. If the sentiment picks up and the mood music is positive towards the run up to the 4th quarter update on the 8th of January, things could become interesting.

Greggs is like ling the budget.

That’s why the price it is, we don’t know how much stock the shorters have left. Once they are out, they are playing a dangerous game at them levels. Anecdotal I know but every Greggs I see always has a queue.

You would think after the recent drop that a Senior Director of Paypoint would have had the common sense to hold onto their shares until the dust settles. It doesn’t in-still confidence when a Senior Manage ris off-loading, hence the drop this morning.

Glad to see it going up, it looked like sub 20p at one stage. Hopefully I might be breathing next week.

Who was it in here, who told me the other day after the results it would never see sub 1000p? We are only a couple of points away. Factor in the budget and the negativity from across the pond it doesn’t look good. Remember that it is ‘Thanks Giving’ next Thursday the day after the budget, always a bad period for shares with the lack of liquidity. If you are going to buy, hold off, sit on your hands.
