rich, yes it does but the car is storing it all the time so usualy full so 80% ~I try not to go over that much to care for the pack, Obiously, you have to plan a bit more, if you had to do longer journey back to back then I would have to go to a rapid charger nearby perhaps. Think each of the older 250w panels can give 10 miles of range a day in summer.
AB probably did a quick calc, thought it was just too good to miss travel the world and worry about the details later...
They'll need to be producing storing H2 days ahead of each race and have clear skies to make this at all possible.
