George Frangeskides, Chairman at ALBA, explains why the Pilbara Lithium option ‘was too good to miss’. Watch the video here.
Paul talks through the stocks he and Graham Neary reviewed in their Small Caps Value Report (SCVR) that week on Stocko which is based on RNSs issued each day so this is the playlist.
I read the SCVR each day but also listen to Paul's podcast each weekend, with the SCVR open on my laptop, as I like the additional colour he adds.
I also find many of the comments added by other subscribers to the SCVR, a number of whom are professional investors, of high quality and very useful in providing me with investment ideas and pointing out the pros and cons of various stocks.

The link didn;t seem to work on my last post. Try again https://www.offshore-mag.com/subsea/article/14290517/subsea-systems-market-witnessing-steady-growth
POS seem to have sold the rights to surface wellhead production to SLB but have retained rights to sub-sea welded markets. The latter is projected to be worth over $15bn by 2030 (https://www.offshore-mag.com/s...).
Paul Scott will be speaking to management later.
BTW I'm not affiliated with Stocko but would recommend getting a subscription. There are a lot of expert posters on the forum there on top of the generally excellent content from Stocko itself. Saved me from a lot of mistakes and following their advice paid back the subscription in the first week.
Checking the view on Stocko this morning:
On the plus side this $5.2m replacement licence deal with SLB solves the tight cash position but in return POS seems to have given up a potential future royalty stream for at least some products so how does this affect POS's future?
Cavendish has put out an update note, where it raises adj PBT for FY to June 2024 from just above breakeven to £3.5m although it notes this is a one-off deal.
The situation looks a bit complex and needs unravelling. Paul Scott on Stocko, who owns nearly 3% of POS is aiming to set up a Q&A with POS management to see what it all means.
From Stocko: “Small shareholders are very vulnerable here, to further ramping from paid-for commentators, sucking in the unwary before yet another discounted placing.”
From Vox: "Saietta set for growth after transformational 1H23"
With the latest funding round running out as soon as March 2024 this stock is uninvestable at the moment imho. Shame really. I did have high hopes for SED. GLA
Good to be getting rid of currently loss making businesses from the group as the newish Exec Chair starts to simplify the organisational structure of the company.
I see momentum building here and am thus hoping for a positive outcome for SAA in 2024. GLA
I wonder if news from NIKE will have a read-across ZTF today

Mixed update but more good news than bad for me and the news about HMRS was not entirely unexpected anyway as you say.
There's plenty of value here. Forward PE of about 11 (and now) a tasty divi of about 8% and a NAV of around 700p so I'm not selling any of mine.
Buys seem to be matching sells this morning and might even over take them later.
It got my attention.
I have a small position here as I do with several Harwood owned stocks so I can keep an eye on SP movement and progress of the turnaround after Mike England was brought in.
With Harwood owning 27% ish, Downing holding 9% ish and Gresham and others also in here I'm wondering if it would suit them for FLO to be sold off as has happened with several Harwood owned stocks in recent times.
There was a situation at OTMP (which I held and Harwood and Downing had decent stakes in) which had low volumes of share trades until a few days before the buyout was announced when there was a flurry of buying and the SP started to rise. This looked like some had insider knowledge of the impending sale and were taking advantage.
Maybe not what is happening here but one to keep an eye on for sure. Will see what happens tomorrow. GLA
